There are plenty of reasons to dislike California. In fact, if we were to take the time to write it all down, we’d end up with a library reference-sized book. The liberal state’s insistence that it is a law unto itself, the crazy protests, calls to be a sanctuary state, and its self-righteous officials are enough to drive a conservative mad. I decided to write about the over-the-top politicians in the Golden State and then realized there were just too many of them for one article. So, instead, I’m going to highlight my top five picks for the state’s most crazy and delusional politicos.
The Fanatical Five
Picking these candidates was not as easy as it may seem (keeping it to only five) but rating them was even more difficult. Any one of them on any given day could take the number one slot. But for today, here is my list:
#5: Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf
Schaaf made it to my list because of her stupidity in warning her constituents of an upcoming ICE raid, thereby giving illegal alien criminals advance warning to skip town.
“I believe it is my duty and moral obligation as mayor to give those families fair warning when that threat appears imminent,” Schaaf said in defense of her social media announcement of the raid.
Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan responded by saying the mayor was no better than a gang lookout yelling “police” to warn fellow gang members of law enforcement in the area.
Schaaf is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice to determine whether she can be charged with obstruction of justice for her little tirade. Here’s hoping she spends some time behind bars!
#4: Governor Jerry Brown
Thankfully, this man’s reign is almost over, but he will always be remembered for some of his outrageous policies. Again, there are too many to name here, but here’s a selection we can chew on for a bit.
Brown has been an adamant protester of the Trump administration, especially when it comes to immigration control – California became a sanctuary state during his watch. When ICE conducted raids in the state, the governor called it a “political stunt,” and said the federal government was “initiating a reign of terror” against immigrants in California.
“This is basically going to war against the state of California, the engine of the American economy,” Brown said, “It’s not wise, it’s not right and it will not stand.”
His other legacies include the high-speed rail fiasco, Proposition 47, which reduced several felonies to misdemeanors and pardoning criminal illegal aliens.
#3: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi
Well, all I can say here is pick your poison. There’s just too much craziness from this lady to list, but here are a few highlights.
Remember her “crumbs” remark? The multi-millionaire dared to criticize the tax break that gave thousands of Americans a little relief, comparing them to mere scraps. She tweeted:
“Pretty obnoxious the GOP thinks workers should be weak-kneed with gratitude for corporations giving them pennies while pocketing a multi-billion dollar tax break stolen from the future of the middle class. #GOPTaxScam”
And who could forget her record-breakingly long speech? In what is commonly a one-minute slot to speak, Pelosi instead delivered an eight-hour marathon about Dreamers and how they should be allowed to stay in the U.S.
#2: Senator Kamala Harris
This lady has sure been making a name for herself recently. Her overbearing tactics are not winning her any popularity awards, though. Harris is like a bull in an antique glass shop. It’s obvious she does not like President Trump’s SCOTUS pick, Brett Kavanaugh, and she’s worked hard to try and derail his appointment.
Take for example her constant interruptions of Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), beginning seconds into his introduction during the Senate meeting to discuss the appointment of Kavanaugh. Even more to the point, Harris harassed Kavanaugh with question after question, trying to get him to admit speaking inappropriately to others about the Mueller investigation. And if you want more proof? What about her condemning Kavanaugh for not shaking hands with the father of a Parkland shooting victim?
This woman has some kind of serious vendetta against the judge. It’s enough to make us wonder – why?
#1: Rep. Maxine Waters
And the top crazy award goes to the very well deserving “Mad” Maxine Waters. This lady is a piece of work – of what, we can’t say here, but you get the idea. This deranged lady literally thinks God has sent her on a mission to get rid of the president.
This self-proclaimed Christian woman thinks nothing of inciting violence in her God-assigned task. Remember when she said this:
“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. Tell them they’re not welcome any more, anywhere!”
“Create a crowd” equals “mob,” and “push back” references violence. When Waters was called to task on her ill-advised words, she shot back with more nonsense, saying, “I did not call for harm for anybody. The president lied again.”
That’s right, it’s always the president’s fault, right Maxine?
The Newest “S**thole”
State politicians across the nation are fed up with the antics of California. The Golden State’s Dems are becoming the laughing stock of the country, and for good reason.
“They want us to be just like California, right down to tofu and silicon and dyed hair,” said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, “Not on our watch.”
Even the state’s own citizens are using the country’s dislike to further their own agenda. Organizers of Calexit, a group dedicated to seeing California secede from the Union, is planning on using the nation’s “deep hatred” of the state to succeed where they’ve failed before. Not a bad plan, really. There is certainly no shortage of people out there that would love to sweep the liberal state under the rug and forget about it.
Now, all we can do is sit back with breath held, waiting to see what new crazies will be elected to the state government this November. Should make for some fascinating stories, though.
