Racial Justice Movement Appears to Have a White Supremacy Problem

There are an awful lot of white people thinking they know what’s best for blacks: Things that make you say “hmmm.”

There’s been a lot of talk from the far left about the problems of systemic racism and white supremacy in America – and for good reason. White supremacists are alive and well and, it appears, they are the main driving force behind the entire movement for “racial justice.” In fact, the broader left-wing political activist movement seems to be dominated by whites, which is a bit of an inconvenient truth, one might say.

Recall the last time you saw photos or video from a college campus racial justice demonstration in which most of the participants were not white. Did the word “never” spring to mind? There’s a good chance it did. So, here are some questions: Do these white progressive college kids think they have the right to speak for non-whites? Do they believe it falls to them to decide what words are racist or offensive to blacks and Latinos – or even blackx ® and Latinx? If they do, doesn’t that make them, by definition, white supremacists? How awkward.

New banner Opinion 1Moving away from the whole racial justice movement for a moment, what about Antifa? Search the Interwebs for photos of Antifa activists and perhaps some videos of them getting their butts kicked by the Proud Boys, which is usually what’s going on in those videos. I’ll wait here while you do that.

OK, did you find some? Were any of those Antifa people black? Sure, they wear masks, but one can still tell. They were not, right? Not a one of them. In fact, Antifa is practically an all-white entity. The Proud Boys, as it happens, can almost certainly boast greater ethnic diversity.

A Whitewashed Movement

How about Black Lives Matter? This is a movement founded by three black ladies, it is true. All three of them are now quite wealthy. While each of them has gone to great lengths to avoid disclosing her net worth, they all have more money than you do. A lot more. Google it, as the kids say. Where does most of BLM’s money come from, though? Some wealthy individuals, no doubt – and how much do you want to bet that most of them are white? Though it would take some extensive research to determine the answer, that’s a pretty safe bet. Most of BLM’s money comes from corporations, though – after all, the organization raked in more than $90 million in 2020, according to, well, according to BLM. And because America is gripped by systemic racism, most of the senior executives of those corporations are – you guessed it – white.

Need more proof that the racial justice movement is much paler than it really should be? The Fox News website on October 31 published a report from Minneapolis, MN, where a lot of inner-city blacks are dreading the consequences of the “defund the police” movement. “Everybody says we want the police to be held accountable and we want fair policing,” said Marques Armstrong, a local black activist and business-owner. “No one has said we need to get rid of the police.” And then there’s this, from the same report:

“Raeisha Williams, an activist with Guns Down Love Up, said she believes the plan’s supporters are mainly white residents who haven’t experienced police misconduct or the violence that Black residents are seeing on the north side. Her brother, Tyrone, died in a shooting there in 2018.

“’It’s like our voices are not heard — they are hijacking a movement yet again and making it their own,’ said Williams, who is Black.”

Yet again? Why, what an interesting turn of phrase from Ms. Williams. Could it be that she knows how this always works? Yes, it could, because Williams is probably a hell of a lot smarter than white progressives would believe. In their minds, Williams does not even possess a photo I.D., or have any clue how to obtain one.

Meanwhile, City Council member Steve Fletcher is pushing to get rid of the police. “I think a lot of people are just recognizing that we cannot be the city that killed George Floyd and didn’t grow or change,” said Fletcher. What he thinks is clearly more important than how often black people are dodging bullets, in his mind.

Guess what color Steve Fletcher is.

Spot the Black Person

Speaking of which, the Fox News article was augmented by a photograph of a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Minneapolis. It depicts a very large crowd marching through the downtown area, At the head of the protesters, people are holding a banner that says, “I CAN’T BREATHE!” Other people are carrying Black Lives Matter signs. If you looked closely at the sea of faces in this picture you would spot one woman who looks sort of non-white.

Of course, it is entirely possible that black people, wisely, do not want to spend their days marching about and yelling and screaming and whatnot because they have better things to do. Who doesn’t? So maybe they simply outsourced the whole outrage bit to unemployed white people. That’s just one theory, though, and it may not stand up to cross examination.

So, perhaps – and this is just an innocent suggestion – perhaps black people (or “black folks,” as they are referred to on the BLM website, which is condescending, at best, and downright dehumanizing, at worst) should be asking themselves why a bunch of privileged white people are bankrolling their racial justice movement, as well as marching and speaking on their behalf. Thankfully, more and more blacks are, in fact, doing just that – and perhaps they will soon conclude, if they haven’t already, that the real white supremacists are the people pretending to be their benefactors.
