Kamala Harris Taps Clinton to Retool Her Immigration Strategy

Turning to Hillary for advice on immigration – seriously?

by | Jan 2, 2022 | Articles, Opinion, Politics

When you have a dismal approval rating, nervously cackle at the most inappropriate times, and skulk in the shadows at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, hoping for a handout, it’s time to get a grip. So, what’s a gal to do? Not what one would think. Vice President Kamala Harris is attempting to spruce up her battle plans on immigration and electoral reform by inviting none other than one of the least liked women in America, Hillary Clinton, to the “retool my image” table.

Some folks believe Hillary is not the best person to turn to if Harris hopes to win the hearts of the electorate. So, the V.P. is also soliciting the advice of Mastercard Chairman Ajay Banga and Chobani C.E.O. Hamdi Ulukayi to help tackle the social and economic problems in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, to ferret out the “root” of immigration woes on the U.S.-Mexico border.

New Banner Border CrisisRoot of The Problem Might be Closer to Home

President Biden tasked his winsome number two with a make-or-break issue: illegal immigration. What followed the appointment was a big, fat, nothing burger of a plan. Harris balked at visiting the southern border for months. When pressed, she inappropriately observed that she hadn’t “been to Europe” either. So instead, she consulted with heads of state in Guatemala and then publicly declared no one should come to America.

Of course, Hillary will advise the V.P. always to carry hot sauce in her designer purse, you know, because Hispanics and southern folks will like you so much better. But will Hill advise Ms. Harris to build a fence? In 2015, Clinton seemed tough on immigration: “I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.”

Yes, Clinton did vote to authorize 700 miles of fencing along the United States and Mexico border long before the progressives took over the Democratic Party. But it was only after Former President Trump announced his visit to the actual border that Harris begrudgingly winged her way to El Paso, TX, yet stayed away from the actual border and all those desperate illegal immigrants.

How Does Corporate America Fit In?

Perhaps asking corporate execs to step up is a smart move. After all, they have a lot of money to spread around. How Hillary is helpful is unclear: the Clinton Foundation didn’t spread anything but gale-force hot air. But a charitable angle may do well if Harris can wrangle the money from big tech and friendly billionaires to dump into El Salvador and Guatemala to stem the tide of the mass exodus out of Central America. And let’s give credit where due: Democrats are level-expert at spending other people’s hard-earned money. This could be the key to Harris being on the ticket in 2024. Maybe that is her interest in reaching out to Bank Of America C.E.O. Brian Moynihan, J.P. Morgan Chase and Co C.E.O. Jamie Dimon, and Truist Financial Corp. C.E.O. Kelly King. Who better to help spread the billionaire love to the folks down past the southern border? And she can plausibly deny any taxpayer angle. Hmm.

But The Damage Is Catastrophic

The Biden administration may have set a record-breaking allowance of two million illegal aliens in the 2021 calendar year. Year-end numbers are not yet published, but 173,620 illicit crossers were apprehended in November alone. And that is a 140 % increase from November 2020. The whisper campaign in the Swamp is that the Biden Bunch is nosing around for a replacement state funeral representative.

Can Ms. Harris finally get down to work for the people? Only time will tell, but for God’s sake, unload the Clinton trunk and leave it by the side of the road. Maybe keep the hot sauce for all that southern Tex-Mex food the vice president will be dining on, come the arduous campaign trail shortly ahead.
