Latest Evidence – The Untouchable Hunter Biden

No access to the president’s son?

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was taking steps to protect Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, from investigation even before the former was inaugurated as president, according to an FBI supervisory special agent. The unnamed official, who retired from the Bureau in 2022, told congressional investigators that the FBI tipped off the incoming chief executive’s transition team and the Secret Service in December of 2020 about a planned interview of the younger Biden related to an already year-old investigation into his shady overseas business deals. As a result of that tip-off, the interview of Hunter Biden never took place.

This latest evidence of a lengthy and seemingly determined effort on the part of the Justice Department to thwart any serious attempt to prosecute Hunter Biden came to light during the FBI official’s July 17 testimony. On August 14, the House Oversight Committee released the transcript of that session to the public. The agent’s claim backs up other testimony from former federal officials that both the DOJ and the IRS interceded multiple times to hamper investigations into an alleged international influence-peddling scheme that might possibly have involved bribery and even extortion.

The former FBI agent told lawmakers from the Oversight Committee that he had not been happy about the communication between his agency and the Secret Service. “I felt it was people that did not need to know about our intent,” he testified. “I believe that the Secret Service had to be notified for our safety, for lack of confusion, for deconfliction, which we would do in so many other cases, but I didn’t understand why the initial notification.”

The committee’s witness further testified that, on the morning of the planned interview, he was informed FBI agents would not be allowed to approach the Biden house. The former agent said that his contact information was provided to the Secret Service, along with a request to question Hunter. Ultimately, the agent was never allowed to conduct the examination.

“Tipping off the transition team and not being able to interview Hunter Biden as planned are just a couple of examples that reveal the Justice Department’s misconduct in the Biden criminal investigation that occurred under U.S. Attorney Weiss’ watch,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) told Fox News. David Weiss has since been given special counsel status.

The FBI being prevented from approaching the Biden house to question Hunter – who was already under investigation for possible tax crimes – contrasts chillingly with the agency’s heavy-handed raid on former President Trump’s home. In the latter case, Trump’s only alleged crimes were related to the mishandling of classified documents. However, the FBI already knew exactly where on the premises the documents were located. There had been no reason at all for anything resembling a raid. Little wonder that so many former FBI officials have come forward to paint a detailed picture of a criminal justice system that has been tasked with the protection of the establishment’s preferred chief executive and the persecution of the man most likely to be his 2024 opponent.

By now, most Americans who have been paying attention have likely reached the conclusion that equal justice is – in DC politics – only an illusion – and not a very convincing one. Sadly, the Trump-haters are not only uninterested in such an imbalance, but they are, it appears, willing to ignore any number of possible crimes committed by the man who ultimately may stand between Trump and a second White House term.
