There for a brief moment some 11 years ago, a baby body parts scandal seemed poised to destroy the massive Planned Parenthood retail abortion empire. It did not – but there remains a deeper legacy that is just beginning to be felt today. Several core elements to the saga loom over 2026 America, most notably the Democratic Party’s total war lawfare for partisan purposes, a rogue judiciary asserting overarching individual power, and the notion – keenly felt by tens of millions of Americans – that those plugged into the network of elite power in this country will never truly be held accountable.
David Daleiden, the undercover investigative journalist who in 2015 blew the lid off how Planned Parenthood harvested the organs and other valuable body parts of aborted babies so they could be sold to leading medical research centers throughout the US, was not hailed as a modern Woodward and Bernstein for his actions. Instead, the Democrat-run government of the state of California unleashed every weapon at its disposal against him in a grueling process that finally ended only this month. On April 1, a California judge cleared the final hurdle to settling Daleiden’s long legal nightmare.
Planned Parenthood and its abortion lobby allies fought to keep him on the hook right to the final moment.
“As promised, the final charge has been dismissed and the case completely expunged – after a couple months’ administrative delay, and a truly bizarre last-minute ‘April Fool’s’ attempt by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation to overturn the state’s agreement,” Daleiden wrote in an X post.
It Started With Kamala
The initial charges against Daleiden date back to 2015, when he and his Center for Medical Progress [CMP] were targeted by the woman who would become the vice president of the United States in 2021 and the Democratic nominee for president in 2024. Damning video evidence was described as “misleadingly edited” to justify the witch hunt against him.
The close association between then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris and Planned Parenthood was so blatant it was even uncomfortably reported by the state’s largest dominant media newspaper, The Los Angeles Times.
“On [April 5, 2016], agents from the [state] Department of Justice under Harris served a search warrant on the Huntington Beach apartment of David Daleiden, an activist whose release of undercover video recordings last summer triggered [a vote to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood] in Congress,” the paper detailed that month.
At the same time, the paper noted, Harris was using that very threat of loss of federal funding for PP as a campaign issue in her pursuit of higher political office.
“Harris seeks the Democratic nomination for the US Senate seat being vacated by Barbara Boxer. Her campaign website includes a page that asked supporters to sign a petition ‘to defend Planned Parenthood,’” The Times continued.
“Voting to strip federal funding from an organization that provides vital health services to 2.7 million Americans is the epitome of dysfunction,” the Harris post exclaimed. “Once again, we need you to take a stand and join Kamala in defending Planned Parenthood.”
The Obama Judge Who Saved Planned Parenthood?
Then there was the judge who played a crucial role in the working machinery of the legal assault against Daleiden.
US District Court Judge William Orrick, based out of San Francisco, was a former campaign bundler for Barack Obama before Obama appointed him to the bench in 2013. Beginning in the summer of 2015, as PP was reeling from an avalanche of negative publicity, Orrick issued a gag order on Daleiden barring him from releasing any more videos. The order was extended and upheld over the ensuing years.
This desperately needed pause was a monumental victory for the beleaguered organization. As Daleiden noted to no avail, Orrick had controversial personal ties to Planned Parenthood.
A rejected 2017 petition to remove Judge Orrick from the case filed by Daleiden’s lawyers highlighted Orrick’s role in founding the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center in San Francisco.
“GSFRC is a non-profit organization, incorporated by Judge Orrick, that assists Latino immigrant families,” the writ read. “GSFRC provides a family planning clinic operated by Plaintiff PPSP [Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific] on its premises.”
“Judge Orrick and his wife have been significant financial contributors to the center, which has a joint partnership with Planned Parenthood,” The Christian Post reported. “The clinic inside was a part of the network of Planned Parenthood centers in the region that had a contract with biotech company StemExpress, which deals in fetal tissue research, that CMP exposed in its investigation.”
And then there is the harvesting itself. The Planned Parenthood baby parts scandal is so grotesque that it staggers the mind to think that any brand-name organization could weather it.
From Baby Head Shipper to Businesswoman of the Year
On August 25, 2015, Daleiden released the eighth video of his expose series. It focused on Cate Dyer, CEO of StemExpress, a company that partnered with Planned Parenthood to provide tissue for medical research – for a fee. In the video, Dyer is seen humorously discussing the discomfort that comes with shipping fully intact baby heads to medical researchers.
The video “shows Dyer describing the reaction at a recipient lab upon opening a package containing the head of a fetus,” The Sacramento Bee reported. “One of the people working the sting observes that whoever ships the package should ‘make sure the eyes are closed.’ Dyer agrees, and there is laughter. ‘Tell the lab it’s coming,’ she says. ‘They’ll open the box, go, “Oh God,”’ and there is more laughter.”
Whatever happened to Cate Dyer as Daleiden was undergoing years of lawfare torture in California?
In 2021, she was named “Businesswoman of the Year” by the Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. That same year, The Sacramento Business Journal honored her as one of its 2021 Most Admired CEOS.
Dyer’s company, StemExpress, acquired a contract from the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. According to the announcement from the Kings, the company would “serve as the team’s official local COVID-19 testing provider.”
It’s not as strange as it sounds. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver sits on the Board of Trustees for uber-connected, rabidly pro-abortion globalist powerhouse “philanthropy” the Rockefeller Foundation. The league’s chief marketing officer at the time, Kate Jhaveri, was also serving as “secretary of the national board for Planned Parenthood Action Fund.”
For those mulling the possible consequences of renewed runaway lawfare against political opponents should a Democrat return to the White House in 2028, worrying over the direction of a judicial system that appears more driven by the emotions of individual judges than settled law, and wondering if the wealthy clients of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking empire will ever face serious criminal charges, the David Daleiden story serves as a sobering warning for the immediate future.
