A prodigious amount of legacy media ink is being spilled on Hunter Biden. Odd, considering Hunter’s story not so long ago was nothing more than a Russian “disinformation” campaign. But now, parts of his laptop have been deemed authentic by the activist media, and everyone is all over this story, including, gasp, the White House.
On ABC’s weekend news program hosted by former Democratic operative George Stephanopoulos, the president’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain threw Hunter – and his uncle Jim – “under the bus,” quipped New York Post columnist Miranda Devine. Here’s what Klain said:
“The president is confident that his family did the right thing. But, again, I want to just be really clear, these are actions by Hunter and his brother. They’re private matters. They don’t involve the president. And they certainly are something that no one at the White House is involved in.”
Separate, distance, deny knowledge of – the strategy is to absolve the president of any inappropriate activities committed by his son and brother. And why, pray tell, is the White House preparing for the worst?

Suddenly – and with a speed that could cause whiplash! – Joe Biden’s friends in the media are all over the president’s son. The Gray Lady’s baroque article on Biden-the-younger opened the floodgates for other leftist legacy newspapers and the broadcast networks to play follow the leader.
Standing in for the soon-to-be-leaving Press Secretary Jen Psaki, White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield tried to fend off the sharks by deflecting multiple queries about the junior Biden’s nefarious business dealings. Bedingfield must not have gotten the “circle back memo” from Psaki, so she utilized a couple of tried-and-true platitudes like “I don’t speak for Hunter Biden” and “I don’t have anything to add from this podium.”
As the White House press corps hammered away, political observers noted the line of questioning centered on Joe Biden’s level of knowledge regarding Hunter’s business activities and whether he could or would pardon his son. Translation: The s— is about to hit the fan for the self-identified “family bag man.”

The Justice Department has been conducting a criminal tax investigation of the president’s son, and a federal grand jury in Wilmington, DE, is digging deep into Hunter’s business dealings. Subpoenas have been issued; testimony is being heard; questions are being asked about violations of foreign lobby laws and money laundering, and — one would imagine – much, much more. The media are brimming with stories from “multiple sources familiar with the matter.” It looks for all the world like Hunter Biden is about to be indicted.
Political strategists sense that Biden’s son will go down, but they are intent that the president not be sucked into the vortex with Hunter. Merely repeating “Joe Biden knows nothing” of his son’s international shakedown operations does not make it true. And it’s going to be a tough sell to convince even those well disposed to the president that he was in the dark about Hunter’s business schemes. Perhaps this is why the activist media shut the story down prior to Election 2020.
But all that is history. What is about to happen in the Hunter Biden investigation could make Richard Nixon’s famed “dirty tricks” look like child’s play. Indications are that we will not have long to wait before a federal grand jury unleashes its power on the Biden family business. While the White House may try to get out ahead of this story, it faces the specter that the truth – suppressed for so long – will finally come out.
