Who doesn’t like a man that will defend his woman? It’s an admirable quality in a husband, and President Trump has once again stepped up to the plate to put down his wife’s many and varied critics. As a matter of fact, he sounds quite weary of putting up with the constant Melania abuse taking place across the so-called mainstream media.
Standing up for his wife, the president tweeted, “The Fake New Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great Frist Lady, Melania.” Then he pressed on: “During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. (and me) for N.Y. or Virginia, to abuse.” And finally, he punctuated his message with, “All Fake, she is doing really well.”
Despite her recent medical issue, the first lady attended an event for Gold Star families on Monday, but it was closed to the media. This caused some quite bizarre analysis. David Frum, who writes for The Atlantic, speculated that the president “punched the first lady in the White House.” Jamil Smith of Rolling Stone tapped out on Twitter, “I wish that I didn’t suspect that the prolonged, poorly explained public absence of Melania Trump could be about concealing abuse.” Then he doubled down with “I wish that @POTUS wasn’t a man with a history of abusing women, including those to whom he is married.”
Then there were the not so subtle attacks from places like Fake News Central (that’s CNN for short) which published a “last Melania sighting calendar.”
So, our “racist, bigoted, Islamophobic” president is now a wife beater. No wonder they call it Trump Derangement Syndrome. Indeed, TDS has been sweeping the media since January 20, 2017, and Mrs. Trump has been hauled through the media muck since the very beginning.
The Incessant Melania Beat Down
When Mrs. Trump launched her “Be Best” campaign she got a hammed for plagiarism. When a Massachusetts librarian refused her gift of Dr. Seuss books because they are “steeped in racist propaganda” it dominated the news cycle. Oh, and we mustn’t forget the high heels she wore onto Air Force One to visit hurricane victims and the inappropriate “military-style” clothing she wore to the Mideast.
When she went to visit sick children in Ohio to hand out Valentine’s Day cards only one national media outlet covered it; Still, they felt it necessary to take a swipe at the first lady by adding in information about the Stormy Daniels affair – as if Mrs. Trump had anything to do with that. And we haven’t even gotten into the truly nasty stuff during the campaign when she was essentially likened to a “lady of the night.” That one she thankfully put to rest with a lawsuit in which she cleaned the perpetrator’s clock.
So, it appears there are two ways to harass the first lady: One is when she does something – anything – and the other is when Trump-haters maltreat her in print. Either way, she gets pulverized to pieces, so it’s a win-win situation for them.
Relentlessly and without cause, the media can’t stop themselves from badgering and finding fault with Mrs. Trump’s every move. It’s obvious Melania Trump is an intelligent, successful, and capable woman, not to mention that she is stunningly beautiful and appears to have a kind heart.
Their behavior is nothing short of disgraceful. One wonders if these folks have any shame.
