Refugees, Immigrants, and Vetting – Inconvenient Truths

It’s a rare day that doesn’t see a mention of “worthy” or downtrodden refugees being lauded by the popular press. Some would consider the “overexposure” more an attempt to change opinions rather than to inform the public on important events. But what is missing from this narrative?

Could it be that the authorities are failing not only the citizens they are elected to represent but also real refugees who face continued persecution due to politically driven decision making?

Here are five Inconvenient Truths for you, without the spin. Examine them, check them, evaluate them, and then ask yourself one question: Is your government dealing with this competently?

Truth #1: Governments DO NOT Protect Refugees

Ashwaq Ta’lo

The Times reported on a recent story of a young Yazidi Muslim girl who was sold into slavery. Ashwaq Ta’lo was just 15 when she and her family were captured and sold.

After being abused in unimaginable conditions, she escaped and made her way to Germany as a refugee.

Then, last year, she was approached by the very man that had bought her, abused her, and dehumanized her: Abu Humam, who she identified as an ISIS guard.

She reported this to the police and immigration officials, who, after identifying the man on CCTV footage, declared that there was nothing they could do since he was also a “refugee.”

This teenager, who has suffered so much, decided to return to Kurdistan, saying that she “could never” go back to Germany.

Truth #2 Governments DO NOT Vet Properly

Suspected ISIS fighter, criminal, and cop-murderer, Omar Ameen, was arrested in California. Omar was a refugee to the United States who ticked all the boxes and was in the process of obtaining a green card. We now know, however, that he lied and that these lies went undiscovered and uninvestigated.

He was rewarded refugee status after saying that his father had been shot by terrorists and that his brother had been kidnapped by religious fundamentalists. Both of these have now turned out to be lies.

In reality, Ameen was wanted for engaging in numerous crimes, including terrorism, the execution of a police officer, and more. He fled to escape justice, making up stories that would all but guarantee him refugee status.

It turns out his father died from a blood clot, and that his brother, far from being kidnapped by extremists, was actively involved in extremism himself.

Truth #3 Refugees ARE NOT Automatically Safer

A recent government report out of Germany describes the amount of violent crime that comes with a large influx of refugees.

The study, commissioned by the Ministry of Family Affairs, describes that in the Lower Saxony region, there has been a spike in violent crimes of over 10%, more than 92% of which are committed by the new arrivals.

However, it also points out that over three-quarters of the victims of these new violent crimes and murders are refugees themselves.

The very reason people are escaping their home countries seems to be following them along.

Truth #4 Governments Discriminate

The British Home Office has been accused of discrimination in who it accepts and who it rejects. The purpose of admitting refugees is presumably to provide them with a safer environment.

In the first three months of this year, 1,112 Syrian refugees were resettled in the U.K. The Syrian Christians were all rejected, despite a personal plea from the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees on their behalf.

The U.N. has stated openly that Christians face genocide in the area. Refusing their request for refugee status means they have no safe haven and will likely face death.

Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry even said: “In my judgment, Daesh [ISIS] is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control including Yazidis, Christians and [Shi’ite] Muslims.”

No answer has been given as to why those under the most threat have been refused help.

Truth #5 The Migrant Crisis is a Cover

When the floodgates to Europe opened up, ISIS announced that they would use the flow of migrants to send in Jihadis. While this may have been partly designed to create division, the fact remains that terrorists have used the mass movement of people to gain access to Europe and commit attacks.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the ringleader of the Paris terror attacks that resulted in the deaths of 130 people, openly boasted that he used the migrant crisis to travel back and forth to Syria despite being wanted by intelligence agencies throughout Europe.

Recent German intelligence reports state that they have evidence that ISIS hit squads have come into Europe under the guise of refugees. Manfred Hauser, the Bavarian intelligence VP said, “We have to accept that we have hit squads and sleeper cells in Germany.”

Perhaps it’s time to ask ourselves who benefits from the current methods of admitting refugees. It is not the local populace, who have hit squads, murderers, and terrorists now in their midst. It is not the refugees who are the victims of violence and murder at the hands of other so-called “refugees.” It’s time to change the way we do things, for if we don’t… Only one thing is guaranteed: More innocent people, native or immigrant, will lose their lives.
