Putin’s War in Pictures – Day 2

A visual narrative of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Overnight, Russian President Putin’s forces began attacking Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv. In yesterday’s photo gallery, we saw the initial images of war, from armored vehicles to devastated homes. Today we see the impact of soldiers on a city and how wars are fought on many fronts – including the propaganda front.

As ever, it is the human cost that is ignored in favor of discussing oil prices and global markets. But as people flee their homeland with their children in tow, unsure of whether they will have either home or family to return to, it is these images that remind us most of the reality of armed conflict.
