Media Ignores The Rape Of A Maryland 14-Year-Old By Illegals

Objective journalism and an opinion column are about as similar as the Bible and Playboy magazine.

–Walter Cronkite

Part of me wonders if anyone reading this article even remembers the name, Walter Cronkite.  And the purpose of commencing this horrendous story of violence and innocence lost is not to deify Mr. Cronkite. Rather the former CBS News anchor’s words are illustrative of just how far the venerable Fourth Estate has traveled down a long and winding road of malevolence and revolting behavior.

Why such strong words? You decide. Unfortunately, it is a story almost entirely untold by the American news media. So here are the facts from Newsbusters:

Last Thursday, a young girl attending Rockville High School in Maryland was brutally gang raped in her school’s bathroom by two fellow students, at least one of which was in the country illegally. Jose O. Montano, 17, from El Salvador, and Henry E. Sanchez-Milian, 18, from Guatemala, were charged last week with raping their 14-year-old female classmate in the school’s men’s bathroom. Both had only been in Montgomery County for a few months before they were placed in the school’s 9th grade class. Sanchez-Milian is a confirmed illegal immigrant that is being detained by ICE officials while officials will not comment on Montano’s immigration status, as he is a minor.

According to the Rockville police, this young girl was walking through the hallway of her school at nine in the morning when two students asked her to have sex with them. When she declined, they forced her into a boys’ bathroom and brutally raped her multiple times as she cried out for help to no avail. Maryland forensic experts corroborated the victim’s story with evidence of blood and semen found in the school bathroom.

By all accounts, this is a pretty gruesome news story and the fact that it involved a fourteen-year-old who was assaulted in a school makes this more than newsworthy.

But, in fact, this report was all but ignored by the American media establishment.  Veteran journalist turned commentator; Bill O’Reilly expressed outrage at the media silence last night on his show:

“ABC, NBC, CBS did not cover it on their nightly news broadcasts,” O’Reilly said in his “Talking Points Memo.” “CNN did not cover the Maryland story in primetime last night. Ditto MSNBC. That is beyond anything I have ever seen in my 40 years-plus of journalism.”

Even Univision covered the story along with several other Spanish-language broadcasting outlets. So why the silence by the mainstream establishment media? Well, it’s reasonably clear that the illegal status of at least one of the accused rapists does not fit into the narrative of the left.  Why report the news when you can disregard and twist it into your ideological, political objective?

Finally, after both O’Reilly and Tucker Carlson shamed them into it – CNN ran a story of this savage rape at 11:04 PM last night. In that report, they referred to the victim as “alleged.” This is standard terminology for an accused but not often used regarding a victim. In fact, in a cursory search of CNN stories of rape, not a single victim was referred to by the reporter as “alleged.”

This insinuation of possible false accusations is scurrilous considering the forensic evidence uncovered by Maryland authorities.

And so, it seems a young lady – likely emotionally scarred for the rest of her life – must succumb to the political spin of media outlets in this country. It’s a disgrace. An atrocity.  And while he may have meant the following tongue in cheek (or not), William Tecumseh Sherman hit the nail on the head when he said, “If I had my choice I would kill every reporter in the world, but I am sure we would be getting reports from Hell before breakfast.”

Apparently CNN ‘reporters’ were far too busy eating human brains for ratings and asking if the President is afraid of stairs.
