Hunter Biden is not the only member of the first family who made big bucks, courtesy of his last name, even though he has drawn the most attention since his laptop, crammed with potentially incriminating material, showed up at a repair shop in Delaware. James Biden also had his hand in the cookie jar. Today (Feb. 21), Joe Biden’s brother will sit with the House Oversight and Judiciary committees for a transcribed interview. After facing a possible contempt of Congress charge, Hunter will do the same on Feb. 28. These depositions loom even as House Republicans struggle to keep their impeachment investigation of Joe Biden on the rails. Unlike Democrats, the GOP lawmakers are trying to prove wrongdoing before they move to an impeachment vote – and, despite a mountain of evidence suggesting corruption, they have yet to produce that proof.
Although not the only questionable business deal James Biden struck on the back of the Biden name, an agreement he had with health care services company Americore is likely to be front and center during his Capitol Hill appearance. As Liberty Nation previously reported, the commander-in-chief’s younger brother told the financially strapped company he would use his connections to secure investment from the Middle East. This was back in late 2017 or early 2018 – the year in which James Biden received three payments from Americore, totaling $610,000.
He never did secure any investment. Two of those three payments made to him by the company -- $400,000 in January of 2018 and $200,000 almost two months later – were listed as loans but the money was not repaid. In 2020, Americore filed for bankruptcy and the appointed Chapter 11 Trustee sued James Biden.
Americore, Joe, and James Biden
This doesn’t seem to be a Joe Biden problem, except that the complaint filed against James Biden alleges that he “procured the $600,000.00 in loans from Americore Health (the ‘Loans’) based upon representations that his last name, ‘Biden,’ could ‘open doors’ and that he could obtain a large investment from the Middle East based on his political connections.”
Joining the dots to Joe Biden doesn’t end there. On March 1, 2018 – the same day that James Biden received $200,000 from Americore – Joe Biden was paid that exact amount by his younger brother. There’s also the admission from James Biden that his brother sat in on a business call to Americore with him. Politico has reported that Joe Biden even met with Americore’s founder and was, at one point, slated to receive an equity stake in the company.
The tale of the Bidens’ involvement with Americore is a murky one indeed. James Biden’s wife, Sara, and his son – also James – were both reportedly involved in the preparation of a pitch to potential investors. Americore’s chief financial officer, Tony Sudduth, was fired from his position because he would not cooperate with the Bidens by producing financial statements. According to Politico’s reporting, Sudduth claimed he had been unable to obtain information about the company’s debts and believed Americore’s business model was, effectively, based upon fraudulent charges for lab testing.
Guilty or Innocent, Depending on the Family Name
James Biden also has done business – with and without Hunter Biden’s involvement – in various countries, going back to when Joe Biden was in the White House as vice president. It is likely the committees probing the Biden family’s alleged influence-peddling schemes will want to grill him on those, too.
The problem GOP lawmakers are facing is that the establishment media continues to tell the American people that because Republicans have yet to produce cast-iron proof of a crime, they have “no evidence.” It appears this narrative is being used precisely because the man at the center of the probe is Joe Biden – the Democrat White House incumbent and Barack Obama’s former VP. That stands in stark contrast to the impeachments of former President Donald Trump, during which no proof of anything was required – Trump was guilty simply because of who he was.
Neither the Hunter Biden nor the James Biden deposition is likely to silence the dubious claims of a political witch-hunt targeting the Bidens. The DC establishment and its media allies have entirely circled the wagons around the first family despite a body of evidence that, were the Trump family at the center of it all, it would easily be enough for both an impeachment and criminal charges.
