Immigration Insanity: American Death Count Mounting

Here we go again. Another senseless murder of an American – this time a cop – has allegedly occurred at the hands of an illegal immigrant. And a manhunt for a criminal alien suspect, whose name has not been released, is underway as of this writing.

Shots Fired!

Ronil Singh (right) and illegal immigrant accused of his murder.

The day after Christmas, about 100 miles south of San Francisco, a Newman, California police officer pulled over a car for a possible drunk driving violation. Shortly after the stop, Corporal Ronil Singh could be heard shouting “shots fired” into his police radio. When help arrived, Singh was found with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, but nothing could be done.

This 33-year-old police officer’s death is particularly tragic on several fronts. He leaves behind a wife and five-month-old son who will never know his father. Singh himself was an immigrant. He came to America legally from Fiji and worked hard to become a police officer and serve his adopted country.

His fellow officers have been mourning Singh’s death live on national television for two days now, and it is heart-rending to watch. Unable to hold back the tears, his brothers on the force are telling anyone who will listen how Singh was “proud to wear the uniform” and that he was a true patriot. It all seems so surreal, so wretched, and so very senseless.

And what do we have in the wake of this man’s death? Why, a manhunt for someone who is still armed and dangerous. Someone who should not be in these United States and cares not one whit about our laws, our people, our country.

UPDATE: Gustavo Perez Arriaga, the man believed responsible for Singh’s death has now been apprehended. He was arrested while apparently attempting to flee back to Mexico. Seven other individuals who assisted Arriaga in evading capture have also been arrested.

And the Beat Goes On

New Jersey prosecutors spent their Christmas working the case of 20-year-old illegal alien Bryan Cordero-Castro. They allege that Mr. Castro lured his 16-year-old girlfriend to a meeting place in New Jersey and then proceeded to stab her to death.

Bryan Cordero-Castro and the girlfriend he murdered.

Then there’s the case of sweet Gustavo Garcia. If not for California’s sanctuary state laws, America could have said Adios to Mr. Garcia. But no. Instead, he stayed, and on December 17th at a California gas station, Garcia is alleged to have opened fire on a 51-year-old American he apparently had never met before. Shoot first, ask questions later?

But that was just the end of a perfect day in the life of Mr. Garcia, who, according to Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux, went on a crime spree that included allegedly shooting a farm worker then taking shots at a woman in a parking lot, stealing a vehicle, robbing a gas station, and driving down a California highway in the wrong direction — all in a 24 hour period.

Had Mr. Garcia been turned over to the authorities it would have been his second deportation. But alas, that did not happen.

The Leftist Narrative

Gustavo Garcia

Yes, we need these lovely people in America. They add so much to the fabric and diversity of this country. We must have more Mr. Garcia’s!  And we must defend their right to be here at all costs. As for the Americans who die at the hands of these craven criminals, they are just collateral damage.

Who will speak up on behalf of Officer Ronil Singh or the 16-year-old New Jersey girl whose life was snuffed out for no reason? Who will sound a clarion call on behalf of Rocky Paul Jones, who met a violent end in a gas station allegedly at the hands of an illegal who had previously been deported but was back on American shores for more fun and frolic?

Will it be soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), or perhaps Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY)? Will they be the ones to give voice to these innocent people who have been silenced forever? Will they express moral outrage on behalf of the five-month-old who will never know his father? You can bet you’re your life they won’t.

Still, there is one nagging question that just won’t go away – that Columbo moment – when we are about to leave the scene of the crime, but have one final query:  How many more American citizens must die before for this catastrophic Democratic vision of an immigration utopia is stopped?
