Virginia Gun Rights Rally Disappoints Racists
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Virginia Citizens’ Defense League put on the world’s worst racist rally. Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life took to the capitol complex in Richmond to demand the legislature and governor not molest their right to keep and bear arms.
Liberty Nation’s Legal Affairs Editor Scott Cosenza reported from the rally for LN. He found the conditions of the rally site appalling, both because of how they seemed designed to frustrate the First Amendment rights of the people and because of the physical danger to the participants:
[W]alking through the restricted grounds on Sunday evening and was frankly shocked at how few points of ingress and egress there would be for such a large crowd. I asked if the gates locked on Sunday would be open on Monday for people leaving the restricted area, and was told only one single gate would serve as an entrance and exit for the park. Asked if the fire marshal had signed off on what seemed like an arrangement designed to produce a tragedy, I was told by the Capitol Police officer, “I don’t work for the fire marshal.”
Will the Virginia legislature pass new laws eliminating gun rights in light of the massive backlash? Scott will keep us posted.
Democrats Invent Cure For Insomnia!
To be fair, Sen. Mitch McConnel (R-KY) gets some credit for his program scheduling. The content, however, is 100% brought to you by the DNC and Nancy Pelosi. She’s the executive producer of the most talked about and least-watched new drama in T.V. Liberty Nation’s Graham Noble says:
The latest news from the trial is, simply, this: There is no news. The Democrat House managers – the prosecutors – are into the second of their three days of opening argument. Perhaps they have scored a minor tactical victory because they will wrap up this phase of the trial on Friday, Jan. 24, and the American people will spend the weekend reading about the case against the president without yet hearing from Trump’s defense team.
That is one theory, anyway. Another is that any American with common sense will spend his or her weekend with family, going to the cinema, drinking, dancing, fishing, hunting, texting and driving, or indulging in any of the other great American pastimes. Don’t text and drive.
Be on the Lookout For:
The man with binders full of women is likely to vote for witnesses in the Senate, and perhaps he will be the only Republican who will. If so, it will be for the very same reason Democrats began the impeachment itself – Trump won.
Washington Whispers & Other Juicy Tidbits
- Expect to see Coronavirus everywhere – headlines of dozens if not hundreds of millions affected/quarantined/etc – meanwhile “56 people have died from an outbreak of a Coronavirus strain that originated in Wuhan, China, according to the Chinese National Health Commission.”
- President Trump’s appearance at the March For Life, the first American president to attend and speak there, will be seen as a masterful political stroke after he is re-elected.
