Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) minced no words in threatening to take bold and swift action during an appearance on Fox News. He said those celebrating the murder of Mr. Kirk “must be thrown out of civil society … If you are aware of anyone … anywhere in the state — who works at any level of government, works for an entity that receives government funding (health care, university), or holds a professional license (lawyer, medical professional, teacher) that is publicly celebrating the violence, please contact my office … I will demand their firing, defunding, and license revocation." Secretary of War Pete Hegseth warned military service members and the civilians in his department that comments mocking Kirk’s assassination are being monitored. And Rubio took the same tone in an X post on Tuesday: "America will not host foreigners who celebrate the death of our fellow citizens … Visa revocations are under way. If you are here on a visa and cheering on the public assassination of a political figure, prepare to be deported."
Unsurprisingly, schools across the country have faced the same issue. More than 180 complaints have been filed against teachers in Texas, and 100 or more of them have been suspended, according to Gov. Greg Abbott. And that’s in a red state. Imagine how many blue-state teachers have expressed sentiments similar to some in Massachusetts, where at least three different school districts have reported teachers being put under investigation for public reactions to Mr. Kirk’s murder.
These are all people who spewed vile rhetoric. But they are still just words. What about those who have gone the distance by putting their money where their mouth is in bankrolling chaos and violence? That brings us back to George Soros.
George Soros, Architect of Chaos
It’s no secret that the mega-billionaire has done everything in his power to undermine the foundations of this constitutional republic. And he has been highly successful. His Open Society Foundations (OSF) have been instrumental in getting progressive district attorneys elected by pouring in outsized sums of money to the likes of Philadelphia's left-wing DA, Larry Krasner. Soros has thus funded law enforcement authorities who have shielded criminals by supporting cashless bail and reduced sentences, even for violent offenders, leading to crime waves that animated voters in the 2024 election.
Vice President JD Vance, filling in as host of the Charlie Kirk podcast on Monday, was crystal clear about the intentions of the Trump administration. In calling out “radical left lunatics,” Vance promised to “go after the NGO (non-profit) network that foments, facilitates and engages in violence.” Soros and other big left-wing funders generally use non-profits as intermediaries in order to shield their own involvement in radical initiatives, much like the Biden administration and their USAID boondoggles, most of which have since been terminated by Trump. “This is not a both-sides problem,” Vance added. “One side has a much bigger and malignant problem and, that is the truth we must be told.” Vance named two organizations in particular for advanced scrutiny: The Ford Foundation and Soros’ OSF.
In the same vein, Trump recently called Soros “a bad guy” who ought to be “put in jail” after raging against him in a Truth Social post last month: “George Soros, and his wonderful radical left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of violent protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America. We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more.” RICO stands for the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, which, in a delicious reversal, was the same law the left used to try to destroy Trump.
The president’s final words in that post were a direct warning to Soros that he will no longer be able to foment discord without consequence: “Be careful, we’re watching you!”
