The City by the Bay has its fair share of woke, wealthy white progressives voting for other progressives, which is all good and well until an attempted coup is made to occupy the Black Lives Matter movement. Those folks are crossing lines. In a candid moment, San Francisco Mayor London Breed admonished Caucasian allies, and in a soft Malcolm X voice proclaimed, “I have a real problem with the takeover of the movement by white people.”
What are the woke folk to do now? If you ask the people of color, the answer is mind their own business.

This Happens When Erasing History
Progressives are passionate about erasing the history of the United States as it relates to the treatment of people of color – it reflects horribly on the Democratic Party and its racist past. It is a sackcloth mantle to bear the greatness and the evils of our Founding Fathers no matter what party allegiance one might profess. Perhaps today’s Democrats, while pandering to calls for defunding police, marching in solidarity with BLM and Antifa, and painting city streets, are simply distracting from their losing control of a once-guaranteed vote at the ballot box.
Have the Democrats lost sight of the Civil Rights movement of the late 1950s and ‘60s? And, specifically, the man once thought of as radical opposition to the peaceful protests of Dr. Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, who once proclaimed:
“The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn’t taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems.”
Finally, it appears people of color remember those words. And white people still don’t get it. They parade down the streets in Portland, seemingly unaware that BLM is hurtling insult after insult at their annoying wokeness. They do not need solidarity from the paler American. And it is starting to irritate aplenty.
Anthony Beckford, president of Black Lives Matter Brooklyn, wonders why the liberal whites want to be, pun intended, at the front of the bus. Again. Speaking with The New York Times, Beckford stated, “Our fight is our fight. Their privilege can amplify the message, but they can never speak for us. There have been moments where some have wanted to be in the front. I’ve told them to go to the back.”
Beckford also shut down protests organized by white people who wanted to push for peace: “Their messaging was, ‘Yes, black lives matter, and police lives matter, too.’ I was, like, no. You can think of the ‘Kumbaya’ moment when we get our mission accomplished.”
Mayor Breed also took the beige alliance to task:
“What’s happening in San Francisco now, and has for so many years, is you have a progressive movement made up of people who are mostly white and feel that they know what’s in the best interest of Black people. I’m over that.”
Waxen white folks are soon to be banned from BLM if the trend keeps up. Will there be another trendy cause to take its place? Regardless, no matter the ridiculousness of the pasty limousine liberals attempting to appear woke for a vote, black America needs them to take a step back. This isn’t their shining – or disgraceful – moment. Let the Black Lives Matter movement succeed or fail on its merit rather than on a well-intentioned hijacking that causes more division. And remember the words of X before the next shiny object comes along: “I have more respect for a man who lets me know where he stands, even if he's wrong, than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil.”
Devil indeed.
