America’s Coming Out Party

It’s suddenly cool to be MAGA.

On soccer fields, in football stadium end zones, inside fight rings, and just about every other public place one can imagine, Americans are doing the Trump dance. It’s a combination of the 1960s twist with a bit of disco action in the hips. This public performance unequivocally sends the message, “We are with you, Mr. President-elect, and we are MAGA.”

Who would have thought so many people supported the former president when the polls showed such a tight race? Well, actually, Liberty Nation News did when we wrote about the shy Trump voter before the election. That tens of thousands of people were quiet about their voting preference flew in the face of the illustrious pollsters who promised a nail-biter. But these professional surveyors were outed for their herd mentality by none other than poll guru Nate Silver. And the rest, as they say, is history.

MAGA – Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

In the afterglow of a decisive MAGA win, some are worried that this spontaneous party will ruin the current political juju. Many are even wondering whether the executives running the National Football League are trying to stop players from doing the Trump dance.

Hall of Fame quarterback Bret Favre told Fox’s Laura Ingraham that the Trump dance is a sign of unity from young people and that the NFL should leave the players alone. There’s no arguing that the dance has caught on. In just the last week, Tennessee Titans Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Detroit Lions Malcolm Rodriguez and Za’Darius Smith, as well as Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, are but a few of those performing the celebratory move, with some even going so far as to add in the famed Trump fist pump to their random acts of elation.

Indeed, there are killjoys out there – some coming from unlikely places. Naomi Wolf is one political analyst who appears more than a bit concerned about the MAGA party taking place in such a public manner. She took to her Substack to scold the revelers:

“I shared that while I felt that the Democrats had obviously descended into a spiral of estrogen-heavy lunacy, the Republicans now risk a testosterone-poisoned, equally blinding overreaction of their own. Psychological and emotional balance are always needed for a movement — and especially a Unity movement — to evolve and thrive.”

Wolf went on to reprimand the long-suffering irredeemables: “My concerns are that partisanship and gloating are leading MAGA/MAHA to miss this gigantic, historic open door that has opened right in front of them. It won’t stay open forever.”

However, it does seem a bit premature to fret about what the other side is thinking on the heels of such a sweeping MAGA win. It also misses the point. Unity – real unity – among the racially and demographically diverse from black and white to young and old is being played out on the world stage. And the world is sitting up and taking notice.

Sky News’ Rita Panahi reacted to the dancing deplorables on her entertaining program Lefties Losing It. Check out this brief video:

After being called every name in the book – from fascist to garbage – Trump supporters deserve a bit of celebration. The time will soon come when it is business as usual, and everyone will retreat into their political camps, ready to do battle. But for now, let’s not rain on the big, bad MAGA parade. The race was long and arduous, and the MAGA faithful, it could be said, have earned this one brief shining fist-pump moment.
