In a live video head-shaker, masked Antifa protesters were recorded yelling “Nazi scum! Off our streets!” at a gray-haired woman pushing a walker innocently attempting to cross the street. The incident occurred Sept. 29 near Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The demonstration was organized to protest a speech by US citizen Dave Rubin on free speech and censorship.
The video is so disturbing it leads one to ask: Who are these people, and what on earth are they trying to prove?
Antifa activists were at it as well on Sept. 30 at a Make America Great Again Rally in Seattle. Reports are that pro-Trump people and the Antifa faithful went “face-to-face” with police standing in between – barely able to keep things from spiraling out of control. Again, “You are Nazis” was hurled at the MAGA citizens.
It is a chant that reveals the group’s raison d’être. Antifa considers itself the ideological successor to the anti-Nazi activists of the 1930s. Thus, it feels it should have carte blanche for whatever its activists say and do – old people with walkers be damned. These folks are on a mission, and anyone crossing their path is fair game.
The Antifa Spiderweb
The word Antifa is taken from the German term “antifaschistisch,” or anti-fascist. So, in the name of “anti-fascism,” activists use violence, intimidation, vandalism, and more to achieve their goals. As they are commonly masked, it has been difficult to ascertain a typical Antifa member demographic. CNN previously reported that activists claim their mission is to promote “peace and inclusivity,” and that the Antifa members “are millennials” as well as “undocumented immigrants, transgender people, low-wage workers.”
Using violence as a calling card, Antifa came out of the woodwork in full force once Donald Trump was elected. This is perhaps why some well-known individuals either promote or participate in Antifa activities.
In a visual depiction of “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” the angriest teen on the planet, Greta Thunberg, has been shown wearing an Antifa “All-Stars” T-shirt alongside Mummy and Daddy. And in the heat of the 2016 election, it was noted but swept quickly under the rug that the son of the Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine was arrested in Minnesota protesting a Trump rally. Oh, and Kaine-the-younger just happened to be dressed for success in his Antifa garb.
Truly disturbing is that so many drinking the leftist Kool-Aid give tacit approval to the Antifa organizational mission. Consider these comments from ordinary folk on a Quora blog:
“Antifa are those who are sick of seeing the Alt-Right gain so much power and don’t understand why their moms, in the resist movement, are taking so much crap.”
“I am profoundly liberal, and like every other liberal I know, I am not in favor of vandalism as ‘free speech.’ That’s more of a conservative thing, which is why I suspect that many of the masked demonstrators are in fact conservatives having fun at the expense of liberals. They get to trash things and foist the responsibility on those they oppose.”
The Marionette Master
So, is there a veiled man behind the masked kiddies in black? Many have pointed the finger at the leftist revolutionary with a bundle of cash willing to put his money where his mouth is: George Soros. The website Intellihub reported, “Billionaire leftist George Soros is the most likely candidate. We know this because back in April 2017, a California faction of Antifa demanded that members be paid the money that they were promised.” There is some legitimacy to the claim if one looks at the Beverly Hills Antifa tweets designed to extort promised greenbacks from its paymaster:
— Beverly Hills Antifa (@BevHillsAntifa) April 3, 2017”
Antifa may say it despises capitalism, but it is patently clear its members want to be paid for their efforts – and at a leftist minimum wage no less. But the truth is that it doesn’t take a pile of money to be a full-blooded Antifa terrorist. Go to Party City, pick up a Halloween mask, grab some black clothes from Urban Outfitters, hunt down that aluminum Little League baseball bat collecting dust in the back of your closet, and – poof – you are Antifa ready. #OLDLADIESFEARME
Any way you cut it, these are not nice people. The Beverly Hills Antifa chapter, which has now had its Twitter account suspended, posted some truly disturbing tips:
“1. Dress to impress (wear black)
2. Props to destroy businesses (hammers, tools, etc.)
3. Fighting (outnumber your opponents 20-1)
4. Cardio (running, stretching, etc.)
5. Wear your mask (cover your face)”
Why all the cloak and dagger? When you are pummeling people and vandalizing businesses, it’s best to go incognito. Remember the fires and general melee at the University of California, Berkeley when Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter attempted to exercise their First Amendment rights to free speech? It’s all part of the Antifa two-step. Notice what these folks say to newbies in one of their videos: “Nothing says we mean business more than by destroying an actual business. I recommend bringing hammers to the riot.” As well, one Antifa spokesperson suggests members “do a little shoplifting on the side.”
The frightening thing about Antifa is not who is behind it, who is participating in it, or who gives it the nod, but that in many ways the group has become the evil that it seeks to eradicate. True believers in such madness should be feared, not because of the baseball bat or hammer they carry but because of what lies in their hearts.
