There’s a new reality play coming to a town or city near you this week. It’s titled Resistance Recess — directed by leftist leaders with an all-star cast of Looney lefties. With no political power to speak of following the complete and utter repudiation of the Democratic Party in November, those on the left will be hitting the streets armed with anger and antagonism to reap national attention.
As Congress goes into recess this week, angry leftists put out their casting call as they plan to disrupt a community near you. What, pray tell, is a Resistance Recess you may ask? Well, here’s a primer from the movement’s website:
This is the perfect time to raise our voices. We will show up at our elected officials’ events, town halls, other public appearances, and even plan our own events, if they refuse to meet with us, to make it clear to those who represent us, as well as to the media, that tolerance of Trump’s hurtful agenda is unacceptable and politically toxic.
If you were an avid reader of Liberty Nation from the very beginning, you might remember we wrote about the coming disruptions being planned by the likes of Robert Reich, Michael Moore, and others. And it seems that with little else to do, the left is making good on their promise.
Heaven forbid they do something productive – like work. No, it seems they have plenty of time on their hands to keep you from getting to work, or the hospital, or on a flight home. It appears that college campuses are not enough. Their anger needs to spill out into your daily life.
Here’s a little primer from the developers of this theater of the absurd:
Anyway, Crooked Media is partnering with MoveOn.org to hold members of Congress accountable in every district in the United States. Today we had MoveOn’s Ben Wikler on Pod Save America to talk about how you can get involved, and we’ll be checking in with MoveOn, Indivisible, and with friends of the pod across the country to find out how these town halls and protests are going.
They even admit their exasperation and issue a call to action for the weary comrades:
This has been a really hard and frustrating few weeks. But the energy and enthusiasm we’re seeing at protests is more than just a bright spot in dark times, it’s actually making a difference.
The health care of tens of millions of people is at stake. Our democracy is at stake. And the only thing these members of Congress fear more than a tweet by Donald Trump is their constituents.
So get out there.
“The health care of tens of millions is at stake.” Really? Do they mean the health care foisted upon innocent citizens that don’t want it? Or the health care that has become totally unaffordable for those who do?
Shall we take a moment to discuss those “dark times?” Do they mean the roaring stock market? Or perhaps the surge in optimism concerning the American economy that hasn’t been seen in years? Perhaps it’s the thousands of jobs that are returning to the nation from coal country to the Motor City? It’s hard to decide to which of these dark times they are referring.
One thing is for sure. Those producing this not-so-little reality play seem to think we are interested in their performance. Certainly, the establishment media will be. They’ll be geared up for a live shot and close-ups so that dozens look like hundreds – or hundreds like thousands – on your flat screen. Maybe those of us who do have a grip on reality should hold a little performance of our own and shut off the tube this week and ignore all the leftist shenanigans.
Sounds good to me. Maybe we should start a movement right here and now? How about #ResistTheTubeThisWeek.
