Pam Bondi Puts New York on Notice for Sanctuary Policies

Prioritizing illegal aliens over Americans ‘stops today.’

As Liberty Nation News has pointed out in the past, the Democrats’ favorite mantra, ever since Donald Trump stepped into the political ring, has been, “No one is above the law.” Nothing has made a mockery of that assertion more than the years-long flouting of federal immigration laws by Democrat-run states and cities. United States Attorney General Pam Bondi is having none of it. On Feb. 12, Bondi announced at a Department of Justice (DOJ) press conference that a lawsuit is being brought against the state of New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), New York Attorney General Letitia James, and the Empire State’s Department of Motor Vehicles commissioner, Mark Schroeder.

Accompanied by Tammy Nobles, whose daughter was raped and murdered by an MS-13 gang member living in the US illegally, Pam Bondi put New York State officials on notice:

“We’re here today because we have filed charges against the state of New York. We have filed charges against Kathy Hochul. We have filed charges against Letitia James and Mark Schroeder, who is with DMV. This is a new DOJ, and we are taking steps to protect Americans – American citizens – and angel moms like the mom standing right behind me, who you’re going to hear from in a moment. New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.”

Pam Bondi Throws Down the Gauntlet

The Democrats running the state of New York and New York City have openly bragged about the protections they provide for illegal aliens, many of whom are housed in upscale hotels. Since Pam Bondi took the reins, the DOJ has already sued the city of Chicago, the state of Illinois, and Illinois’ Cook County over sanctuary policies. The new attorney general made it clear that she isn’t done yet. “President Trump has directed this to stop,” she continued at the presser, “and if you don’t comply with federal law, we will hold you accountable. We did it to Illinois – strike one.  Strike two is New York. And if you are a state not complying with federal law, you are next, get ready.”

The Biden administration flooded America with millions of illegal aliens. A great many of them were flown or bused all over the country – and, suddenly, this was no longer just a border states problem. Donald Trump’s pledge to once again secure the border and then deport illegals – starting with those who had committed violent crimes – was without question one of the main issues that he rode to victory in the 2024 election.

Several state and local Democratic officials across the country have vowed to actively resist or interfere with any attempts by Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) to detain illegal aliens for deportation. Whether these officials have not yet figured out that most Americans do not want illegal aliens in their communities or whether they simply don’t care is not entirely clear. But, in picking a fight with Border Czar Tom Homan, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and now Attorney General Pam Bondi, it increasingly looks as if they may have bitten off more than they can chew.
