At this hour (9 AM Wednesday) on Capitol Hill, the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer is holding a press conference regarding "the investigation into the Biden Family's influence peddling," according to a committee press release.
As related by Fox News, Comer released an embargoed 36-page memo that alleges the Biden family and associates created more than 20 companies and made more than $10 million from those companies with foreign ties. The recurring theme being that the money went through multiple accounts before landing in Biden family accounts.
The purpose of the news event is to update the American public on the family's "influence peddling enterprise to determine if the Biden family has been targeted by foreign actors, if President Biden is compromised, and if there is a national security threat."
The live-streamed presser is a follow on to a deal already revealed by the investigative committee "that resulted in several members of the Biden family and their companies receiving over $1 million in more than 15 incremental payments from a Chinese company through a third party" the Oversight press release contends.
Just a few days ago, committee chairman James Comer (R-TN) requested a transcription of an interview with former White House Counsel Dana Remus in connection to Mr. Biden's classified documents that were found strewn across his personal property leaving one to wonder if there is a connection between those long-held classified papers and the charges that the Biden family used their influence to enrich themselves.
Even before today's press conference began, the White House used its muscle to push back the Oversight Committee probe labeling it as "evidence-free" and "politically motivated." In an exclusive story this morning, Fox Digital posted an article quoting White House spokesman Ian Sams who wrote Comer's "absurd innuendo ignores reality."
