Twin Minnesota Democrats, Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar, celebrated opening week of America’s favorite pastime by holding a No Kings protest in St. Paul. That did not cause the amount of heartburn for Heartlanders as having Canada try to hijack the anti-ICE momentum or the fact that an Islamic organization had the gall to say comedian Bill Maher doesn’t represent the values of the Trump-Kennedy Center. It appears that Muslims don’t understand irony.
No Kings – Yeah, We Did That Already
The progressive wing of the Democratic Party held protests this weekend in several large cities and blue state municipalities to attempt to convince followers that the US is now a monarchy and President Donald Trump must go. Of course, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar were looking for a gig where no one would ask about daycare fraud or the random winery raking in millions, so both took the stage in the “No Kings” protest in St. Paul.
Mark Johnson had to know: “Do all these protests include all types of Kings? You know like...ThinKing, WorKing, Fact ChecKing, MaKing Sense?” The short answer, Mark, is no.
Several people in the middle of America wondered if this was worth getting a babysitter and Chris Seamans in Missoula asked: “Will daycare be provided?”
But Bob Schaffer was the guy who spoke to the middle masses, saying: “Is it me, or wouldn't it make more sense to have a No Ayatollahs Day.”
Well, Bob, it depends on who you ask.
Oh, the Irony
Members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have their sheet wear in a knot over the Kennedy Center’s decision to honor Bill Maher with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Before anyone else could react, Dave Tessman in Clawson, MI, asked: “Let’s see how the exploding people react to this (hint, they aren't Christians).” Well, CAIR was miffed.
“Mr. Maher would have never received this recognition if he were an antisemitic comedian who supported terrorism against Jewish-Americans or Israelis, but his open bigotry against Muslims and support for the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza are somehow perfectly acceptable,” CAIR complained. “Until our society rejects all forms of hate and all forms of violence against innocent people as wrong, regardless of the victim, hypocrisy and inconsistency will continue to undermine the reputation of institutions like the Kennedy Center.” How the opinion of this organization makes the news is hard for many to stomach in the Land of the Free.
Jerome D'Angelo, in Savannah, GA, pointed out: “When a death cult criticizes you, you're doing something right.” And it doesn’t appear the Kennedy Center cares either.
As Roma Daravi, Vice President of Public Relations, said: “For nearly three decades, the Mark Twain Prize has celebrated some of the greatest minds in comedy. For even longer, Bill has been influencing American discourse — one politically incorrect joke at a time.”
Maybe CAIR is teed off because of a joke Maher told on his program about Iran’s latest Supreme Leader:
"Four times he has traveled to a clinic in England to treat impotence. Yes, I love the Ayatollahs. They hate the infidel West until their d*** doesn't work. This guy seems to have a serious problem. When he gets to heaven, he'll say to the 72 houris: 'Girls... maybe we could just sit and chat?'"
In Tiptonville, TN, Carl Mills did not care about the medical issues of the latest Khamenei, saying, “CAIR should be outlawed and all members deported!”
Oh, Canada. Just ICE That Hockey Loss
The Mayor of Toronto had to jump on the publicity train by telling ICE to stand down in a March 18 motion. Well, Mayor Olivia Chow has no authority to bar the division of Homeland Security from being in Canada, as they are part of a larger effort. What ICE in Canada is not doing is rounding up illegal aliens because that would be Canada’s job. But she persisted.
“ICE has no place in this city,” Chow posted on social media. “Toronto is about to welcome thousands and thousands of families because of FIFA World Cup, where everyone belongs. Everyone is welcome.” Except ICE. “So, stay out, ICE,” the liberal mayor continued. “We do not need you here.”
In Georgia, Steve McCoy asked, “Should someone tell her?” And Vernon Carr weighed in from Universal City, TX, with this observation: “Apparently we aren't the only ones electing the stupid and looney.”
“‘No ICE in Toronto,’ we wish to inform you that the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has never planned to deploy agents from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Canada for FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Baxter Hunt, the US consul general in Toronto.
Homeland Security Investigations HSI-Canada has been a successful partnership over the years, “seizing 106 illegal firearms, more than 700 charges against 20 individuals for trafficking illicit substances, the takedown of a major international drug trafficking operation in Ontario, and the identification of hundreds of child victims of sexual exploitation,” Hunt reminded the addled mayor.
“We are completely opposed to them even being on Canadian soil,” Paul Ainslie told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Ter Bags was floored and chimed in from Gainesville, GA: “When bat**** crazy has no borders.”
Former Canadian Bill Grand, who escaped to Nevada, offered: “No to ICE, but Chinese police stations are fine?”
And that’s a whole different conversation.
