There is, perhaps, nothing more chilling than watching a group of children bullying an adult because they have been indoctrinated with a radical ideology that, if implemented, has consequences they cannot even begin to comprehend. It is something that has happened many times, in many different countries. From Mao’s cultural revolution to the Nazi Hitler Youth to the child soldiers of several African civil wars, the political brainwashing of children has produced horrific results. That the extreme left in today’s America is allowed to practice this form of child abuse is truly appalling.
provocateurs – who have become the loudest voices in the political world – are taking full advantage of childhood gullibility to push their so-called Green New Deal.
Stripping Children of Their Humanity
This manifesto for the complete destruction of America’s political and cultural foundations has not even progressed as far as a structured legislative proposal. Yet, it is already being sermonized to children in much the same way as Islamists preach their own twisted version of Koranic teachings to naïve young students in madrasas.
When children too young to develop critical thinking skills are taught that they face a threat so terrible that any means of eliminating that threat is justified, the result is that all those associated with the threat first face bullying and condemnation, then oppression and violence, and ultimately – if those measures are deemed insufficient – incarceration or even execution.
Those children have no moral frame of reference; they grow up believing that it is acceptable – even normal – to silence and, if necessary, destroy those who oppose them – for the collective good, of course. This all sounds overly dramatic in the context of an environmentalist movement in modern-day America, and it would be a step too far to suggest that the radical left is purposefully working toward such a brutal future. Extremism and zealotry, though, have a habit of eventually devouring everything in their path – including the humanity of young people who started out merely as passionate crusaders for what they believe to be a better future.
Feinstein Refuses to be Bullied
Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA) got a taste of the extreme left’s newest fanatics recently, when the Sunrise Movement unleashed a group of young, but already intolerant, social justice warriors upon her. The Sunrise Movement is one of maybe hundreds of environmental activist groups, but it might be unique in that it specifically targets and ‘trains’ the very young to engage in radical activism under the banner of saving the planet.
A gaggle of rude Sunrise recruits confronted Feinstein to urge, or, more accurately, to demand that she support the Green New Deal. Faced with this almost belligerent group of youngsters, the Senator kept her cool and explained to them, in a measured but no-nonsense tone, that she had been around long enough to know what she was doing. “You come in here, and you say it has to be my way or the highway,” she told the kids. “I don’t respond to that. I’ve gotten elected … I was elected by almost a million-vote plurality … So you know, maybe people should listen a little bit.”
The kids had already been taught to believe that nothing less than a complete, top-to-bottom restructuring of society within the next ten years would save the Earth. Feinstein’s assurance that she was trying to do the best she could, by writing “a responsible resolution,” was clearly not good enough for these Children of the Corn but the Senator was not going to be bullied by this group – some of whom may be younger than her own grandchildren.
When anyone – even a Democratic senator – dares to refuse to prostrate themselves at the altar of the progressive movement, the zealots tend to lose their minds. In response to Feinstein’s rebuffing of their demands, the Sunshine Movement posted on Twitter that the senator had treated its child soldiers “with smugness + disrespect.”
This is exactly how reigns of terror begin; when clueless children castigate their elders for not bowing to the orders they bark. For the sake of the very preservation of individual freedom, it may be time for the real grown-ups to make it clear that those who have not yet even graduated high school need to listen and learn before they mindlessly follow ideological doctrines of which they have no understanding.
