This year saw a very different Fourth of July holiday, according to CNN’s Maeve Reston – and not just because of Coronavirus. No, this is the year that Americans “are wrestling with the racist misdeeds of the country’s heroes.” One might think Trump the Terrible would take the day off and leave his poor, emotionally crippled victims alone. Instead, he lit a “culture war bonfire” on July 3, using Mount Rushmore of all places as the backdrop to a speech calling the “protesters” who have set cities ablaze and declared their own autonomous zones precisely what they are: “a nefarious left-wing mob that intends to ‘end America.’” (Reston’s words, not Trump’s). The commander in chief is “attempting to drag America backward – striking fear of cultural change while flouting the most basic scientific evidence about disease transmission,” Reston wrote. Of course, a nefarious left-wing mobster who intends to end America would see it that way.
The president, you see, just wanted to stir up his base and play on the fear of minorities to show how Black Lives Matter is a threat to the historical dominance of white people. according to Reston, Trump went so far as to describe protesters – who are apparently just trying to right the wrongs of history – as “alien to our culture, and our values.” Of course, the president is right. And what Reston either doesn’t understand or – more likely – doesn’t want her readers to understand is that conservatives don’t fear or distrust Black Lives Matter because of their blackness. What keeps conservatives awake at night is the fear of Marxists influencing American culture. Black, white, or chartreuse – that isn’t the problem.
If you’re unfamiliar with what Marxism has wrought over the last century or so, Liberty Nation’s Tim Donner gives an excellent primer in the latest Truth TV.
As LN’s Jeff Charles recently said, the left doesn’t just come at you with arguments. They want to destroy you. President Trump explained that these Marxists are on a “merciless campaign to wipe out our history, defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.” While Maeve Reston writes about this with evident scorn, it’s absolutely true. Of course, the far-left can’t wipe out history, defame national heroes, erase American values, or indoctrinate the children without taking to media outlets like CNN to lambast any who dare shine a light on their nefarious actions.
“It was a spectacle that unfolded before thousands of people, most without masks, who were seated close together in bleacher seats and on black folding chairs that were zip-tied together because of a local fire code, making physical distancing impossible,” Reston writes of the president’s speech.
Make no mistake: Trump and those who gathered to hear him haven’t forgotten about Coronavirus. They’ve simply decided to live their lives rather than cowering in fear of a “pandemic” that almost always only kills those who are already very ill or very old – you know, like the flu, pneumonia, and even the cold. That there is such strong evidence that some “COVID-19 deaths” had nothing to do with Coronavirus beyond the amount of money hospitals get isn’t exactly inspiring compliance either.
What is truly miraculous, however, is how the left forgot about Coronavirus as soon as it was politically expedient to do so for the sake of looting, rioting, and general anarchy – only to remember it again (and forget their own forgetfulness, of course) when folks start gathering for any other unapproved purpose. There are only three possible explanations here:
- Progressive Marxist ideology and general bad behavior act as a vaccine against Coronavirus.
- Coronavirus recognized the injustice of police brutality and took some time off so that Antifa and Black Lives Matter could “honor” George Floyd by burning down cities and shooting black people in autonomous zones.
- The left is, has always been, and will always be full of it.
You decide which seems most plausible.
