Top Doctor Details Vaccine Injury, Shakes Australian COVID Regime

‘This is an issue that I have witnessed first-hand’

The official state coronavirus vaccine consensus in Australia has been rocked by a for-the-record personal account from a former president of the Australian Medical Association (AMA) in which she says she and her same-sex marriage spouse have suffered “devastating” injuries from the inoculations.

Australia and neighboring New Zealand implemented what are widely considered to be the harshest COVID social regimens among all first-world nations. Former Member of Parliament Dr. Kerryn Phelps – also the first female to head the AMA – was and continues to be a staunch supporter of many of those policies. Phelps can in no way be tagged as an “anti-vaxxer” activist.

For these reasons, her testimony and denunciation of Australia’s strict rules against licensed physicians questioning vaccines have sparked an uproar Down Under.

Vaccine Injury Among the Medical Establishment

“This is an issue that I have witnessed first-hand with my wife who suffered a severe neurological reaction to her first Pfizer vaccine within minutes, including burning face and gums, paraesethesiae, and numb hands and feet, while under observation by myself, another doctor and a registered nurse at the time of immunization,” Phelps wrote in a submission to the Australian Parliament’s Long COVID inquiry, reported on Dec. 20 by the media outlet News.com.au:

“I continue to observe the devastating effects a year-and-a-half later with the addition of fatigue and additional neurological symptoms including nerve pains, altered sense of smell, visual disturbance and musculoskeletal inflammation. The diagnosis and causation has been confirmed by several specialists who have told me that they have seen ‘a lot’ of patients in a similar situation.”

Phelps says she suffered her injury after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine in July 2021. “In my case the injury resulted in dysautonomia with intermittent fevers and cardiovascular implications including breathlessness, inappropriate sinus tachycardia and blood pressure fluctuations,” she wrote.

Phelps noted that both injuries were duly reported to the nation’s Therapeutic Goods Administration, but the health regulatory agency “never followed up” on the accounts. The doctor had strong words for Australia’s policy of rigorously stamping out any deviation from the official pro-vaccine narrative among caregivers.

“Regulators of the medical profession have censored public discussion about adverse events following immunization, with threats to doctors not to make any public statements about anything that ‘might undermine the government’s vaccine rollout’ or risk suspension or loss of their registration,” she stated.

“The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), which oversees Australia’s 800,000 registered practitioners and 193,800 students, last year warned that anyone who sought to ‘undermine’ the national Covid vaccine rollout could face deregistration or even prosecution,” News.com.au noted.

The sight of a credentialed physician breaking with the official COVID narrative in such a jarring manner has spurred a member of another profession that played a leading role in backing the nation’s restrictive social policy to come forward.

Cracks in the Dominant Media?

Australia’s big-box media garnered worldwide attention for their enthusiastic support for vaccination mandates, lockdowns, and other aspects of the country’s social curb regimen. Eleni Roussos, a reporter for state-funded Australian Broadcasting Corporation News Northern Territory, followed up on Phelps’s revelation with one of her own.

“Inspired by Dr. Kerryn Phelps today I want to say I too have been in a living hell with pericarditis because of the Covid vaccine,” Roussos wrote in a Dec. 20 Twitter post. “Vaccine injuries are real and serious and I sincerely hope more people will speak up.”

Her employer may not be happy.

As recently as Dec. 16, Australia’s national broadcaster was still adamantly decrying vaccine skepticism. “Vaccines remain a major breeding ground for misinformation,” an ABC “Fact Check” declared.

“In the third year of the pandemic, much of the misinformation coming across our desk involved the safety of COVID-19 vaccines,” the media entity asserted, and complained that some people “maintained, wrongly, that the vaccines altered recipients’ DNA, increased the chances of catching COVID-19 or simply failed to work.”

The state-funded fact checkers appear to back Phelps’ contention that coronavirus vaccine safety in Australia is presented as established fact, with any data that may cast the shots in a negative light being frowned upon and suppressed.

“The burden of proof seems to have been placed on the vaccine injured rather than the neutral scientific position of placing suspicion on the vaccine in the absence of any other cause and the temporal correlation with the administration of the vaccine,” Phelps wrote in her testimony.
