Jill Biden (Ed.D.) has been a very busy girl. Last week, the first lady held court at El Centro Academy in Kansas City, KS, and engaged in a “charla” (Spanish for chat) with El Centro CEO Irene Caudillo. But as it turns out, El Centro does more than teach the three Rs. The organization has a non-profit spinoff that offers a primer on how to thwart U.S. Customs and Immigration.

In a video tutorial produced by El Centro and found on its social media page, illegal immigrants are given the basics in how not to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Step one – illegals are to “stay silent” if and when they encounter anyone connected to U.S. immigration enforcement. Step two – don’t open the door if they should come knocking. Step three – contact a community member who has status or an attorney.
According to The Washington Free Beacon, El Centro has a history of making political contributions to Democrat candidates, including Joe Biden and Representative Sharice Davids (D-KS). So, it’s not surprising that Jill Biden would saddle up next to El Centro’s head honchos. It also should not come as a shock that last month the Biden administration put in place new rules limiting ICE’s “ability to arrest and deport illegal immigrants.”
Oh, But the Optics!
The optics couldn’t be worse for the first lady to chew the fat with El Centro, especially after recent images of thousands of illegals camped under the bridge in Del Rio, TX. Adding insult to injury, Dr. Jill tweeted out her meeting on her official FLOTUS (first lady of the United States) Twitter page: “Strength. Community. Passion. Those were the words I wrote down during an inspiring charla today with … members of the Latino community in Kansas City, KS.”
Only one of two explanations could be given for such a tone-deaf comment in the midst of an immigration crisis. Either Mrs. Biden does not comprehend the U.S.-Mexican border problem, or she doesn’t care.
Speaking of not caring, the first couple was spotted at a tony Washington restaurant this weekend in violation of D.C.’s Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser’s mandatory mask requirement. Joe and Jill were videotaped walking through Fiola Mare – an Italian seafood hot spot in Georgetown. The video in this tweet put out by the Republican National Committee Research account shows Mrs. Biden not wearing a mask and the president holding one in his hands.

Wearing masks in the District of Columbia is mandatory. The executive order issued by Bowser includes enforcement penalties against establishments that do not comply with her mandate. Fiola Mare has given lip service to the D.C. order. Its website reads: “Per CDC guidance and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser’s executive order, all individuals over age 2 are required to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status.”
Rounding out her week, Dr. Jill traveled to the Old Dominion to stump for Terry McAuliffe, running for a second (non-consecutive) governor’s term in Virginia. On the campaign trail, the first lady was widely quoted as saying, “Virginia, you need somebody that you can trust.” That same sentiment could be said of the entire country as well.
