The terrorist attacks in central London late Saturday have, sadly, been completely overshadowed by the polarizing responses to it. Regardless of one’s political opinions – or, indeed, one’s views on Islam and its political cousin, Islamism – it is always worth remembering that the blame lies, ultimately, with those who carried out the attack.
The three assailants themselves, were killed by British police during the incident. Outside of Islamist propaganda, their names and personal histories will soon be forgotten. They are not worthy of remembrance, adulation, pity or even hatred. They are dead. They should be dead. The world is a better place without them.
The attacks left seven dead – not including the terrorists – and 48 wounded. British Prime Minister Theresa May had tough words Sunday, saying “enough is enough.” Pulling no punches, she declared “There is, to be frank, far too much tolerance of extremism in our society.” To date, Britain has a poor track-record, when it comes to cracking down on Islamist extremism within its borders. With a general election just days away, May’s words may have been merely an extension of campaign rhetoric.
The reaction to the attack, aside from the predictable initial platitudes, was as breathtaking as it was repulsive. From the left, there was barely a word of sympathy for the victims. Instead, the safety and wellbeing of the Muslim community was the focus of much anguish. MSNBC worried that the police might ‘overreact’ to such attacks. During live coverage of the response effort, MSNBC host Richard Lui spoke by phone with former Department of Homeland Security consultant Mustafa Tameez. Lui asked Tameez “Is there any risk of overreaction? Is there ever a point where you go ‘well, that’s too much’ or ‘we shouldn’t be applying that amount of force there’?” Tameez brushed this off in a professional and logical manner, but the fact that the question was posed at all leads one to wonder what has become of the establishment media. Innocent people were attacked and killed, or gravely wounded, and a news anchor is concerned that the reaction to the attack might be “too much.”
Louise Mensch, an Englishwoman who masquerades as an investigative reporter but who is better known for twitter rants laced with obscenities and falsehoods, was equally as objectionable. In her first tweet, she advised people to “Make no assumptions as to who caused it. Look as [sic] to who capitalizes on it.” Ironically, this was Mensch capitalizing on it. In a follow-up, she tweeted “Peace my dear Muslim brothers and sisters. We Know @PutinRF funds ISIS, Al Qaeda and Assad. We hold him responsible. Not you. #Solidarity”
The bloody wave of terrorism may, then, be U.S. President Donald Trump’s fault or it may be Russian President Vladimir Putin’s fault. Apparently, it has nothing to do with Islamist extremism. Trump himself went after the almost casual attitude of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, tweeting:

In London, Sunday, a small group of Muslim women gathered in the street to hold up signs and call for peace. The demonstration was aired briefly by the BBC. This was no spontaneous and heartfelt plea for unity, however; A CNN news crew staged the event.
The fight against these extremists, who want us dead, no matter how much love and tolerance we show them, will continue to be difficult and deadly. It is no longer mere partisan speculation that many in the establishment media – along with certain Democratic Party politicians – have openly chosen to align themselves with the terrorists and against freedom. The Fourth Estate, in collusion with left-wing politicians, has become a fifth column.
