Joe Biden Decides Blackness?

Democratic golden boy Joe Biden has stepped in it again. That, in itself, should be no surprise. After all, if you don’t put your foot in your mouth regularly, you ain’t Joe Biden – but this slip of the tongue was special. It revealed an idea that infects far more of the Democratic Party than you may realize.

Liberty Nation’s Leesa K. Donner wrote:

“If you have a pulse and a modicum of interest in politics, you know that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden opened his mouth this week and inserted his foot. In and of itself, this would not be news for the former vice president. But when the comment concerns an entire segment of American citizens – and a crucial voting bloc – saying that “you ain’t black” if you are considering voting for President Trump provides a rare window into the mentality of the 77-year-old. Such a comment by Biden is indicative of the long, strange relationship between this career politician and the black community.”

“If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black,” Biden quipped. Look, anyone paying attention already knew the Democrats were the ones obsessed with identity politics, but who, exactly, appointed Joe Biden arbiter of blackness?

What to Watch for

Joe Biden opens his mouth and says ridiculous things almost too often to keep up with them. Not long ago, he declared himself confident in his ability to defeat Joe Biden – presumably the “other Biden” he told people to vote for if they don’t like him a while back. Who knew there were two? While we never can guess what is about to come out of his mouth, it’s a safe bet that two things will continue to happen on a regular basis: Joe Biden will keep saying things that are racist, incoherent, or both – and the ever-loyal Democratic Party will continue to make excuses for him.

It’s Okay, Joe, You’re Still the Chosen One.

If you were thinking this clearly racist comment would bite Biden in the butt, think again. Like any other slip up from the Godfather of Gaffe, Democrats forgave and explained away this comment. Sure, there were those offended on both sides of the aisle, but for most in the party, it’s already as if it never happened.

Liberty Nation’s Jeff Charles explained this odd relationship:

“Biden’s remarks show a reality that blacks on both sides of the political spectrum recognize: White leftists think they own the black community. This isn’t true in a literal sense, of course, but in the sense that blacks vote overwhelmingly for Democratic politicians, even though, in most cases, those same politicians do very little for predominantly black cities. Biden only said the quiet part out loud.

Democrats have become so accustomed to automatically getting the black vote that they are now comfortable speaking out of place. To put it frankly, what Biden said, and what many white liberals believe, would get them slapped in the face if uttered in person. The sad reality is that the Democrats no longer even have to hide their disdain. Like a husband who stops working out after getting married, they believe they can get away with anything – and they might be right.”
