Think about it: Every time you get behind the wheel, you play a game of Russian roulette thanks to unchecked massive illegal immigration into this country. There is simply no reason to expect those who flout the immigration laws of a sovereign nation will somehow magically care about its basic safe driving rules. A Tennessee family is the latest group of Americans to suffer the senseless loss of a beloved son and brother because an illegal alien with no driver’s license and no proof of registration freely maneuvered our roads in a steel contraption that can go more than 100 miles an hour. Pierce Corcoran, a 22-year-old with a bright future, was killed when Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, an illegal alien, veered into his lane and crashed into him. Francisco-Eduardo has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.
Mayhem on Our Roads
Of course, Pierce Corcoran would be alive today if this reckless driver had been charged with criminally negligent illegal presence in our country some time ago. Or, better yet, prevented from ever stepping onto our soil in the first place by a tall, completely constructed border wall.
It’s not like we don’t see similar tragedies being reported on a regular basis. A casual internet search found the following headlines:
- “Twice-deported man allegedly on drugs kills teen in car crash”
- “Illegal immigrant bound over for trial in hit-and-run that killed [Michigan teen]”
- “Driver Who Allegedly Killed Oregon Couple in DUI Crash Is Illegal Alien, ICE Says”
I can go on posting more headlines like this for quite some time. Pierce was a promising young man who, family members say, was a “responsible, hardworking, and loving son, brother, and grandson.” His mother will never see him again. She wrote a post on a “Justice for Pierce” blog detailing her inability to comprehend how she could take such care to raise a child to have respect for the rules of the road while an illegal alien can drive those same throughways with total disregard and kill her law-abiding son. The pain is evident as she eloquently writes:
“We are all aware, as a family, that nothing will bring Pierce back, but don’t tell me my son, who lived in this country and followed its rules, doesn’t deserve better. For God’s sake, out of respect for the men and women who fought and fight to make this country such a desirable place to live, DO THE RIGHT THING and come here legally and become a responsible citizen.”
American Lives Matter
Predictably, pro-immigration open-floodgates activists decry any attempts to draw logical conclusions from Pierce’s death. Meghan Conley, a member of a group called Allies of Knoxville’s Immigrant Neighbors, wrote a typically blathering op-ed in the Knoxville News Sentinel urging Tennesseans not to “politicize the deaths of citizens by non-citizens.”
Conley also runs the official Twitter account for the group. On the very same day that her inane mental belch was published on the pages of her local newspaper, she had the gall to tweet the following:

That’s right. The deaths of foreigners seeking to steal their way into our nation are far, far more important to activists like Conley than the slaughter of her own people at the hands of dangerous illegal alien drivers. They are a “national emergency,” while the sufferings of American citizens are not worth a fuss.
The people of Tennessee have reacted with outrage to Pierce’s death. Amid the profound grief of this easily avoidable tragedy, it is hoped this young man can become the Kate Steinle of homicidal illegal alien drivers. How many more Americans have to die in similar manner before the wall is built?
You know, elected politicians drive (or more likely are chauffeured in) automobiles, too. What in heaven’s name makes them think that a yellow line or two painted on a road is going to keep them safe from the consequences of the same grave dangers in which they have so callously placed their fellow citizens?
