Officials in New York say they expect LaGuardia airport to remain closed until around 2 pm on Monday, March 23, following a deadly collision between an Air Canada jet and a fire truck.
The commercial airliner, arriving from Montreal, touched down at LaGuardia late on Sunday night before striking a fire truck. The pilot and co-pilot were killed, and more than 39 passengers and crew, along with two Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting officers, were hospitalized, The CRJ-900 plane was reportedly carrying 72 passengers and 4 crew.
