Anti-Semitism and Censorship – Not Acceptable

by | Mar 8, 2019 | Columns, Opinion, Politics

As the first week of March roared through the heartland, bringing winter storms and inclement weather that even the sturdiest of folks find appalling, most stayed inside and spent their time on electronic gizmos, gathering the latest news and expressing their views on all things political. A common thread on social media continues to weave a message of a nation on the brink of another civil war, pitting the constitutional republic against a socialist takeover. If you thought 2016 was the year of an angry populace insurgency, well, as 95-year old Charlie Mac of Fountain County, Indiana states: “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”

As if dousing a pile of dried brush with kerosene and striking the match stick, the left has once again set a funeral pyre ablaze around themselves as commoners fan the flames and ready for another epic battle.

Democrat Darling?

Ilhan Omar

Darling of the new Congressional class and ardent friend and supporter of anti-Semitic, misogynistic, homophobic, hater-in-general Louis Farrakhan, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) fears everything she spouts about Israel will be construed as anti-Semitic because she is a Muslim.

Or perhaps it is because she really loathes the Hebrews.

For weeks, the mouthy Muslim has found herself in hot water with her own party and uncharacteristically attempting to ‘splain herself to a major chunk of the Democrat base – Jews.

“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” she declared. More recently, she accused her co-congressional peeps of being in bed with American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) for their financial support, commenting “It’s all about the Benjamins baby.”

The Dems, in full public relations crisis mode, demanded apologies. When that didn’t work, they finally resorted to drafting a resolution to stop the hate speech. What America is finally realizing as Omar continues her hatemongering rhetoric is that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is downright soft on anti-Semitic slurs – at least when they emanate from the mouths of the left. Heck, Pelosi didn’t even ask for an apology from Omar, saying she didn’t believe her comments have “any antisemitic attitude.”

House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY), who did demand an apology for a “vile antisemitic slur,” was dumbfounded by the Speaker’s weak stand:

“Her comments were outrageous and deeply hurtful, and I ask that she retract them, apologize, and commit to making her case on policy issues without resorting to attacks that have no place in the Foreign Affairs Committee or the House of Representatives.”

The Buckeye state weighed in as Pat Neal opined on Facebook, “I just have 1 question-what would be happening right now if a Jewish or Christian member of congress made the same statements about Muslims?”

Was that a rhetorical question?

Darrell Cook was a bit more analytical. “She and the democrats are pandering to the Muslim vote at any cost. She just dissed the Semitic population. Just like they dissed middle America for fringe groups. Just like democrats dissed the black population for illegal immigrants. The democrats have become the party of dissed infringement.”

Thomas Wilson came up with a good idea: “Maybe the Democrats should contact David Duke for some better talking points.” And the Show Me state’s Al Lilleoien warned, “If they ever start apologizing, there will be no end!!”

Even Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel offered a public tongue lashing, using the new “it” words for Omar, “by repeatedly trafficking in antisemitic tropes, she is associating herself with calamities from the Spanish Inquisition to the Russian pogroms to the Holocaust.”

And Gina Cdub couldn’t stand it, “I would never in my lifetime agree with anything this man says! But I do this time because he’s right. It kind of hurt to say that.”

Take Your Mic and Go Home

Another doozy Dem gem worthy of a social media tirade comes as Chairman Tom Perez of the Democratic National Committee claims an article in The New Yorker magazine made it clear that Fox News should be uninvited from hosting any Democratic presidential primary debates. The announcement is just an imbecilic move on the part of the Dems to reinforce America’s image of the DNC as intolerant and still hoping to cheat to win:

“Recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates.”

“Just to be clear, Fox News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates.” Perez then double-downed on Twitter. Talk about “dissed infringement.” Plus, hasn’t Perez paid attention to the talking heads on CNN, MSNBC, and the deteriorating networks who claim Fox News is Trump’s very own public relations team?  Most folks were of the “so what” mindset. But then there were those who took the bait.

Mary Ann Chandler spat, “Couldn’t pay me enough to watch a DNC debate yuck!” And she was met with comments of incredulity by several others. From Kansan Helen Zimmerman Godfrey: “Mary Ann Chandler in one way I feel like you do, but in another way it might be fun to see them knock each other down and nearly kill each other lol,” – which earned a snark from Shelby Muse of Louisiana: “You’re lying. I’ll bet the last $ 62.89 on my EBT card that you’re gonna watch EVERY minute. ..Deal???”

But the good-natured banter was brought back to a serious discussion when Brian Prutting reminded the commenters, “Also because the likelihood of them sharing the questions in advance with the candidates they like is nil.”

Conservatives have that elephant memory at the ready when needed.

Gear Up

The political divide of the populace is widening as the 2020 contest looms large. The Silent Majority hasn’t been quiet for three years, and if the rallying cries from angry American patriots are any indication, there will be a thorough electoral cleansing of the un-American sentiment and practitioners who wish to destroy the constitutional republic. Folks in flyover country are following every move the left makes. They have long memories, and they vote.  Old Charlie Mac may be right on target when he says we “ain’t seen nothing yet.”
