Competing Arguments in Trump Immunity Case

Today (April 25) the US Supreme Court will hear oral arguments to determine “Whether and if so to what extent does a former President enjoy presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.” Donald Trump hopes the Justices will be persuaded that he – as a former president – enjoys immunity from prosecution by the Department of Justice’s Special Counsel Jack Smith. The ultimate ruling in Trump v. United States could have significant outcomes for his electoral prospects.
