Americans are unaware that their election system is one of the most insecure among the industrialized nations. Europeans are shocked when they learn how unsafe it is. They are even more disturbed that the lack of election integrity appears to be by design. While Europeans are somewhat bemused by the election chaos in America, details of how the system works – or doesn’t work – are creating shockwaves. Things that are taken for granted by most political affiliations elsewhere are highly disputed in America.
Would you mail the nuclear codes?
Mail-in Ballots
Nearly all European nations ban mail-in voting because it is error- and fraud-prone. The attitude in civilized countries is that a ballot determines who controls the military. Would you mail the nuclear codes?
Drop-off Voting
Many nations have early voting, but nearly all create voting stations like the ones used for election day. The idea that one can deliver votes without verification and oversight in a drop-off ballot box is considered absurd. Any European politician who proposed such a policy would instantly be deemed a crackpot.
No Voter I.D.
Many Western nations require voter I.D. to unambiguously prove that one is a living, mentally competent citizen with the right to vote. There is a general agreement from left to right that only citizens should be allowed to vote and that an airtight voter I.D. is required.
Ballot Harvesting
Around the world, voters need to turn up in-person to a certified voting location to cast a vote. Ballot harvesting is regarded as fraud.
Dead Voters
In Europe, no dead or underage voters can vote. It is impossible for any other than the eligible, and they can only vote once in one location in person. It is not sufficient to have a voter I.D. The voter must also match the ballot I.D. Europeans are bemused because American media talk about “a certain percentage of dead voters in every election” as if this were normal and acceptable. Such irregularities only happen in the United States and under dubious regimes such as those of Belarus and North Korea.
No Bipartisan Ballot Observers
The world is now learning that in America votes can be counted without being checked by independent observers. Outside the United States, this is called fraud.
Sham Election
In most industrialized nations, any of these six points would be sufficient to invalidate a ballot. The United States managed the feat of holding an election where tens of millions of votes were cast where all the above election integrity points were violated. If this election were held in a Scandinavian country, it would have been deemed a sham election, the least secure voting process in history.
By Design
What is even more puzzling to a foreign audience is that these are features of the American election system, not bugs. That is, the Democratic Party has for a long time systematically pushed for a process that enables and encourages industrial-scale voter and election fraud.
The Democratic Party is unique among large left-leaning parties in the West in its plan to dismantle election integrity. The result is that Iraq and Afghanistan now have more secure elections than America. Observers across the globe find that curious and disturbing.
