Twitter Tattles, and Flyover Folks Grind Their Teeth Over Griner

Heartlanders have also noticed that Vice President Kamala Harris is missing in action.

Editor’s Note: From the Back Forty is Liberty Nation’s longest-running and most popular weekly column. Capturing the truth each week from heartlanders in flyover states, LN gives voice to the hard-working Americans otherwise ignored by the coastal elites.

It was difficult to talk about anything but the emerging Twitter scandal, and the folks in the middle started searching for pitchforks to take care of a few people in the Swamp. Elon Musk has become an enemy of the left, and one international incident set most heartlanders on edge as the worst trade in history since the Atlanta Falcons picked up dog abuser Michael Vick in a deal with the then-San Diego Chargers. Oh, and the missing-in-action vice president predicts a possible change in the current regime.

Twitter Tattles

As Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) would say, “Some people did something.” And now Elon Musk is trickling out damning information about collusion, obstruction, and suppression at the highest levels. As Liberty Nation’s Chief Political Correspondent Graham J. Noble reported:

“The 2020 Biden campaign was sending the social media platform lists of tweets it wanted restricted or removed, and Twitter employees were complying with those requests. There really is no disputing that it was indeed ‘rank censorship.’”

It just keeps getting more insidious: The internally coordinated suppression went deep. And one man was axed for his deceitfulness in hiding critical information, also known as the truth, from the public. Noble noted: “It appears that a certain senior figure within Musk’s company was responsible for the delay in releasing information to the public. Musk fired Twitter’s deputy general counsel, James Baker, a former FBI attorney, after finding out that Baker was ‘vetting’ the Twitter Files before they were disclosed.”

Bryan Wittekind in Springfield, KY, spoke for the masses: “Sue the former Executives at Twitter … please. Someone needs to go to jail.”

Musk Taunts

Speaking of Twitter, as transparency is reaching the public, disgruntled celebrities fear some users won’t agree with their views. That makes the famous queasy. And several have said they would leave the platform now that Musk was running the show. The latest, Sir Elton John, made a stink on Twitter – while leaving Twitter: “All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together. Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.” He did not see the irony. But one responder, Gordon Johnson, pointed out the disconnect: “Dude, you’ve done like five ‘farewell’ tours already. You’ll be back.”

Biden’s Bumbling Trade

As with most major foreign affairs the president has conducted, the latest is mind-blowing. Joe Biden negotiated the release of WNBA player Brittney Griner in exchange for the Merchant of Death – a notorious arms dealer. One would think that an equally high-value prisoner – say, a US Marine – would have made for a more equitable trade. But, instead, the imprisoned America-hating Griner won the toss. International criminal, Viktor Bout of Russia, had been serving a 25-year sentence for selling weapons to kill Americans and aiding terrorists. Oh, please, Mr. President, let that guy back out on the streets.

Heartlanders had a collective conniption. In Arizona, Rusty Crossland warned: “The only question is how long before this comes back to haunt us.”

And Biden went all in, saying Griner “represents the best about America — just across the board, everything about her.” Alyce Collins in Indiana was about the only respondent we could publish: “Well, I’m pretty sure there are LOTS of Americans who absolutely DISAGREE WITH THIS.”

Harris Identifies as Houdini

Heartlanders have noticed that Vice President Kamala Harris is missing in action. But an article by Christina Cauterucci, a senior writer from the very left outlet, Slate, finally said aloud what everyone else is thinking:

“Harris, a proven dud of a presidential candidate who has done little to distinguish herself since, is not a good choice for the Democrats’ top billing. For his second term, should he seek one (he shouldn’t!), Biden should tap someone else.”

Now the nation waits to see if Harris will be leaving to spend more time with her family as alternative options are suggested: Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg or even Dr. Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary of health. Former pediatrician and man now identifying as a woman, Levine checks more boxes, but Pete is dashing and, to some, quite popular.
