Trump Weekly Report: Just The Facts – 06.21.20

The words and deeds of President Trump, without the spin.

Editor’s Note: Everyone’s got an opinion, but who has the facts? At LibertyNation.com, we like to say, “Truth is Making a Comeback because Facts Matter.” Each week, we cut through the noise to bring you some of the lesser-reported highlights of the president’s week.

Monday, June 15

On Monday, President Trump had lunch with Vice President Mike Pence and later hosted a roundtable on “Fighting for America’s Seniors.” That morning, Trump took a shot on Twitter at his 2020 challenger, Joe Biden: “I’ve done more in less than 4 years than Biden’s done in more than 40 years, including for Black America. Biden has been a part of every failed decision for decades. Bad Trade Deals, Endless Wars, you name it, he has shown a complete lack of leadership. He’s weak & shot!!!”

Tuesday, June 16

The president signed the Executive Order on Safe Policing for Safe Communities. During his opening address, Trump said: “Americans believe we must support the brave men and women in blue who police our streets and keep us safe. Americans also believe we must improve accountability, increase transparency, and invest more resources in police training, recruiting, and community engagement.”

Wednesday, June 17

On Wednesday, President Trump unveiled the Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End the National Tragedy of Suicide (PREVENTS) Task Force. As the name suggests, the goal of the new task force is to reduce suicides among veterans. “Ending the tragedy of veteran suicide demands bold action at every level of society,” the president said. “Twenty veterans and service members take their own lives every single day. The loss of our heroes breaks our hearts and pains our souls.”

Thursday, June 18

President Trump hosted at the White House a roundtable with state governors. The topic of discussion was helping small businesses reopen after the Coronavirus shutdowns.

On Twitter, the president had something to say about John Bolton’s soon to be released book. The former national security advisor has written a memoir of his relatively short time as part of the Trump administration. “Wacko John Bolton’s “exceedingly tedious”(New York Times) book is made up of lies & fake stories,” Trump wrote. “Said all good about me, in print, until the day I fired him. A disgruntled boring fool who only wanted to go to war. Never had a clue, was ostracized & happily dumped. What a dope!”

Friday, June 19

Other than an intelligence briefing, the president had no public events or meetings scheduled for Friday. Trump did take to his favorite social media platform, though, to respond to the Supreme Court’s decision that his administration did not properly comply with the law when it rescinded the Obama-era Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program:

“The Supreme Court asked us to resubmit on DACA, nothing was lost or won. They “punted”, much like in a football game (where hopefully they would stand for our great American Flag). We will be submitting enhanced papers shortly in order to properly fulfil the Supreme Court’s…..

“…ruling & request of yesterday. I have wanted to take care of DACA recipients better than the Do Nothing Democrats, but for two years they refused to negotiate – They have abandoned DACA. Based on the decision the Dems can’t make DACA citizens. They gained nothing! @DHSgov”
