Now that House Democrats are finally ready to hand over articles of impeachment to the Senate, it is merely the deck chairs on the tilting platform of the “Titanic” investigation that need to be straightened. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced which of her faithful flock will be tasked with putting forward the case against the president as impeachment managers, and a more anti-Trump crew it would be difficult to find.
The impeachment of President Trump has all the plot elements of a dark fairy tale. There are heroes and villains, plot twists, and like any story, the narrative often changes to increase tension or the suspension of disbelief. The most important question is, what story is playing out in Washington D.C., right now?
In the classic fairy tale first published by the Brothers Grimm in 1812, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the beautiful young princess is taken away to the swamp to be murdered. A poor huntsman, dismayed that he must kill an innocent, takes back the lungs and liver of a boar as proof of death… which the wicked queen consumes to increase her own beauty. Snow White is taken in by the gang of dwarfs, who only in later adaptations for the stage were given names, and they serve her faithfully, doing all she bids. Does this story parallel events in the D.C. Swamp? And if so, who plays which character?
Grumpy, Sleepy and Shifty

Nancy Pelosi, surely trying to keep her hands clean (or perhaps snow white) in this matter, has assigned Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA), House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Reps. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Val Demings (D-FL), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Jason Crow (D-CO), and Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) to oversee the trial on behalf of the Democratic Party.
Schiff’s position is clear; he wants Trump gone, and as witnessed in his make-believe “reading” of the Trump/Zelensky telephone transcript, he will apparently say anything to make that happen. Nadler is in by virtue of his position, but what of the others? Pelosi made a statement in which she said the selection was based on these representatives’ ability to make a case. She declared:
“The emphasis is on litigators; the emphasis is on comfort level in the courtroom… The emphasis is on making the strongest possible case to protect and defend our Constitution.”
Regardless of the political theatre next week, it is extremely unlikely that President Trump will be removed from office. So, what is the plan for these bastions-of-virtue now given the role of impeachment managers? Jerry Nadler may have given the game away when he stated:
“The relevant question is relevance… In any trial you call witnesses who have information about the allegations… Anybody, like Hunter Biden, who has no information about any of that is not a relevant witness.”
Is this trial perhaps just operating as a buffer for the next likely Democratic presidential nominee?
A Poisoned Apple
In this dark tale taking place today, Pelosi may remain snow white in the impeachment proceedings by having her trusty minions act on her behalf. The seven dwarfs, ever eager to please, will use every trick in the Grimm book to garner media attention, distract the public from the potential crimes of those who would be president, and go to work (Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho) on chipping away at Trump’s level of support in the nation. But who is the wicked queen and who is Prince Charming?
