The leftist media refuses to stop with their epic coverage of students organizing in favor of gun control following the Parkland school shooting. It must be their “stellar debating” education according to The Miami Herald. The Wall Street Journal credits their “instinctive organizing” skills. Enough with the fake news. Here is their recipe for success based on some first-rate research done by David Hines in The Federalist:
- 1 lb. MoveOn.org social media promotion
- $1M from Oprah and George Clooney
- 2 cups Debbie Wassermann Schultz lobbying the teacher’s union
- 1 ½ T. student activist training by Planned Parenthood
Place all items in a mixing bowl and beat for 2 weeks. Pour into buttered casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees.
Indeed, these teenage survivors have developed a massive social media campaign. But they didn’t do it all on their own, that’s for sure. Yes, these kids have grown up in the digital age. And yes, they probably know a helluva lot more about Twitter than you and me, but don’t think for one nanosecond that they haven’t had help from the hard left. After all, this is the left’s stock and trade – organize, disrupt, resist.
Now they are teaching our children their progressive ways. And the sad– truly heart-breaking thing – is how easily these young people are propagandized. American rock and roll musician Spencer Dryden had it right when he said, “Get them while they’re young and bend their minds.”
Teens Take on the NRA
We cannot forget that these are grieving teenagers, and we are naturally sympathetic. We get that the emotion is running high for these kids but aiming their anger at the National Rifle Association is not the answer. And if gun control were the solution then we would not have tragedies like Parkland as we are a nation filled with a plethora of gun laws already on the books.More gun control is the easy and seemingly obvious rejoinder, but it defies logic to keep doing what hasn’t worked in the past over and over again and expect it to work.
As discussed previously on Liberty Nation there are a variety of reasons for mass shootings and most of them are based on the culture rot in America, i.e., fatherless homes, mental illness and so forth. Some are now looking into psychiatric drugs in the bloodstream of these killers:
If you develop digestive problems after a change in diet, do you look for the cause in foods you always ate or the new ones you started eating? While the answer is obvious, this common sense is painfully uncommon when analyzing the new phenomenon of continual mass shootings: Many blame the long-present “foods” — guns in this case — and ignore the new diet whose embrace coincided with the problem. And part of what’s new is the widespread use of psychiatric drugs.
Of course, we understand the need for these young people to search for answers, but they are looking in the wrong place if they keep pointing their firepower at places like the NRA. How about Big Pharma? How about broken homes? Even if you take every single gun away from every American what’s going to stop someone like the deranged Parkland shooter from picking up a chef’s knife, a hatchet or running his car into the stands at a football home game?
So, you must ask: What do these young people really want? Do they want to remove all firearms from the U.S.? Not only is that illogical, and impossible — it’s dangerous – not to mention unconstitutional. They can tweet and retweet all the live-long day, but their methodology is fraught with error and confusion.Whatfinger.com
