Every day, Liberty Nation brings you the latest news about assaults on liberties and freedoms guaranteed under the U.S. Constitution. In these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever to be informed of the insidious stripping away of our inalienable rights as Americans. Dateline Jan 05 - DC Leftist activists mobbed the D.C. home of Missouri Senator Josh Hawley demanding that he withdraw his plans to contest the 2020 election on January 6. He tweeted soon after: "Antifa scumbags came to our place in DC and threatened my wife and newborn daughter, who can’t travel. They screamed threats, vandalized, and tried to pound open our door." The ShutDownDC activists posted the footage on their social media pages including a message of what they were doing. The message said, “Activists lit candles and delivered a copy of the US Constitution to Hawley’s door.” Putting the abusive actions to one side for a moment, contesting the election results is actually part of the Constitution. Dateline Jan 04 - DC Nancy Pelosi tweeted, "Our most urgent priority will continue to be defeating the coronavirus - and defeat it, we will!" just moments after presiding over a non-socially distanced free-for-all swearing-in ceremony. There has been no suggestion that she will be charged with a crime ... unlike other Americans who have opened their businesses. Dateline: Jan 02 - US Dr. Anthony Fauci, who will become the White House's Chief Medical Advisor, should Joe Biden become president, told Newsweek he believes COVID-19 vaccination mandates - particularly for schools and maybe for travel - are a possibility and would be discussed in a Biden administration. Dateline: Jan 01 - OR Portland police declared a riot on New Year's Eve when a mob targeted officers and a federal courthouse with firebombs and commercial-grade fireworks in the downtown area. "If you do not leave the area you are subject to citation and/or arrest. You are also subject to the use of tear gas, crowd control agents, and or impact munitions," the police department warned in a tweet. Dateline: Dec 30 - NY Around 12,000 students in New York will be excluded from school because parents have either failed to or refused to sign permission slips granting the schools permission to randomly test their children for COVID-19. Dateline: Dec 29 - CA Governor Gavin Newsom has suggested that despite the number of COVID cases dropping in the Golden State, he would be announcing further restrictions and extensions to existing rules later today. Dateline: Dec 28 - US Numerous outlets are hyping the idea of an immunity passport for those wishing to travel. How long before draconian state politicians begin the push? Dateline: Dec 27 - MI Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is considering penalties for attorneys who filed legal challenges to the result of the presidential election. Dateline: Dec 22 - OR Dr. Steve LaTulippe has had his medical license suspended for apparently speaking at a StopTheSteal rally. Is this a case of people being punished by the Oregon Medical Board for exercising their First Amendment right? Or is something else at play? Dateline: Dec 21 - DC The Senate passed a $900 billion spending bill ostensibly aimed at COVID relief. Consternation grows as to why the package contained international spending for "gender programs" in Pakistan, climate alarmism funding, and a whole wealth of pet political projects. Dateline: Dec 20 - OR Oregon’s Democratic Governor, Kate Brown, has extended the state of emergency declaration, which provides her with additional powers to shut down businesses and schools. The declaration would have expired on January 2 but will now be in force until March 3. Dateline: Dec 19 - DC Indoor dining has been banned in the capital until mid-January. Museums have been closed, as well as libraries except to pick up and drop off only. Employees of non-essential businesses are required to work remotely. Dateline: Dec 18 - MI Governor Gretchen Whitmer hosted a Zoom video call with Michigan children who got to ask Santa Claus some questions. Incredibly, almost all the questions were about COVID-19. Santa told the children "to do what the governor is telling all the people of the great state of Michigan to do.” Whitmer also told the kids that they should not be visiting family, this Christmas: "Call your grandparents and your cousins and your family and it’s the safest way to tell the people you love how much you care about them.” Dateline: Dec 17 - US The ATF has decided to classify firearm parts as actual firearms, meaning if an individual bought parts and did not register, they could face legal troubles for owning an unregistered firearm. Read more on this topic right here. Dateline: Dec 15 - NY The shutdown of indoor dining in New York is underway as per Governor Cuomo's order. Restaurant owners are furious as new data reveals that eateries and bars are responsible for, at most, 1.4% of new cases. Dateline: Dec 14 – DC At least 33 people were arrested as clashes broke out at the Washington DC Stop the Steal rally yesterday. It is reported that four people were stabbed and a number of Metro PD officers were injured. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Fourth Estate is not saying who were the instigators of the attacks. Dateline: Dec 13 – YouTube The online video platform removed a video posted by Grabien Media owner Tom Elliott, exposing threats against Trump supporters recently made by Michigan State Rep. Cynthia Johnson (D). Youtube claimed the Grabien video violated its "violent criminal organizations policy." Dateline: Dec 12 – PA An extensive list of restrictions came into effect on Saturday and will remain until January 4. A ban on indoor dining and a 50% reduction in capacity for businesses - including retail stores - are among the new measures. Dateline: Dec 11 – VA Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D) has announced both a 10 p.m. curfew on residents and an order that no more than ten people be permitted in a single residence. The executive order will come into effect from Monday. Dateline: Dec. 10 - CA Stay at Home orders are spreading throughout the country. As we approach the Christmas season, families will face fines and harassment for daring to visit loved ones, dropping gifts off to friends, and most importantly, be denied the right to be where they want to be. Thankfully, there are still law enforcement officers who will not strip individuals of their freedom. Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke announced that the "Merced County Sheriff's Office will not be enforcing the 'Stay At Home Order'. We will continue to 'do business as usual'. The Sheriff's Office will continue to go after the criminals that are committing actual crimes. We will not be going after anyone gathering during the holidays. We feel that people should take the COVID issues seriously, but we are not going to go door to door to make sure people are following the 'no gathering' or 'stay at home' orders. With holidays approaching, the Sheriff's Office will continue to focus our attention on criminal activities and not COVID enforcement." Dateline: Dec. 9 - CA 160 people were arrested for attending a party over the weekend in the desert city of Palmdale located about an hour north of Los Angeles. Many of the party-goers were not apparently "wearing masks" and over 30 were reported to be juveniles. The party organizers were arrested. It appears there was additional criminal activity at the event.“Morale was deteriorating and it was all Yossarian's fault. The country was in peril; he was jeopardizing his traditional rights of freedom and independence by daring to exercise them.” ― Joseph Heller, Catch-22
