Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has gotten herself into trouble. But in a notable departure from the usual, she is being targeted by the left. America’s favorite socialist just can’t get a break, can she? The Democratic Party and PeTA both took issue with the representative this week.

Is AOC Stiffing the Democratic Party?

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who has already raised more funds that most of her colleagues in Congress, came under fire from her own party for failing to donate even a nickel to Democrats’ House campaign organization. Apparently, AOC’s professed Marxism doesn’t extend to spreading the wealth of campaign funds around to people on her team.

Rather than toe the party line, the representative has created her own fundraising apparatus for progressive candidates seeking office. This would allow her to circumvent the establishment Democratic Party organization. This decision is in line with her endeavor to oust moderate members of the party in the primaries by supporting their opponents.

Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) wasn’t too happy about AOC’s moves. “Do you want to be in a majority or do you want to be in the minority?” he asked on Fox News. “And do you want to be part of a team?”

He better watch it with that “minority” talk. AOC might just call him a racist.

Another source took a harsher stance. “Deadbeat Cortez should pay her bills,” the person told Fox. “She’s always whining about people paying their fair share and here she is leaving her friends with the bill.”

Apparently, Ocasio-Cortez takes her beef with the Democratic Party seriously. According to records obtained by Fox, she hasn’t paid any of her $250,000 in dues to the DCCC. But it’s not just the Democratic Party who is angry at the young lawmaker.

PETA Takes Issue with AOC

PETA slammed Rep. Ocasio-Cortez when they found out that she purchased a new puppy rather than obtaining a pet in accordance with progressive societal law. Apparently, the “woke” thing to do when getting a puppy is to adopt a rescue mutt from a shelter. AOC, who obviously hates dogs, bought a purebred French bulldog. Oh the horror!

Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, issued a statement chiding the representative for her choice of canine companion. “AOC had a chance to set a compassionate, responsible example in the face of the homeless-animal crisis, but instead, she apparently inadvertently contributed to the problem,” she wrote. “PETA is urging her supporters not to follow her lead in this case and to stick up for the underdog by choosing to give a lovable mutt a new lease on life.”

The organization also took to Twitter to howl about AOC’s new puppy. “With millions of dogs,  including Frenchies, homeless in shelter cages waiting for homes, @AOC’s choice to publicize getting a purebred puppy is disappointed,” they barked. “As a person who fights for justice, we doubt she could’ve realized the implications.”

They concluded their tweet by arguing that “adoption is the ONLY option.” Now, if only we could get them to apply this same sentiment to unborn human children.
