When it comes to political comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. Each week, Liberty Nation uncovers the blunders that keep us wondering: How did she ever get elected?
Free speech online has been in the news quite frequently lately after Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg gave a speech at Georgetown University defending his company’s practices regarding political ads and other types of expression on his platform. This past week, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a chance to confront Zuckerberg in a way that only she could. But that wasn’t all. She also joined in on the latest iteration of the ongoing fake outrage campaign against President Donald Trump.
AOC vs Mark Zuckerberg

Earlier this week, Zuckerberg testified before the House Financial Services Committee about Facebook’s new cryptocurrency project. But the conversation quickly veered from this subject and centered on how the company is policing – or not policing – speech on its platform. Members of Congress grilled the executive about various aspects of his company’s policies regarding hate speech and political ads.
When it was her turn to enter the fray, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez took a shot at Zuckerberg over the political ads issue. “You announced recently that the official policy of Facebook now allows politicians to pay to spread disinformation in 2020 elections and in the future,” she began. “So I just want to know how far I can push this in the next year.”
Then, like clockwork, she went into her typical race-baiting antics, asking the founder if she could specifically target zip codes of cities that are predominantly black and advertise the incorrect election date. No really, she actually asked that question.
But Zuckerberg burst her bubble when he replied: “If anyone, including a politicians, is saying things that can cause … that is calling for violence, or could risk imminent physical harm, or voter or census suppression, when we roll out the census suppression policy, we will take that content down.”
Basically, Zuckerberg was pointing out lying about an election date could and would be seen as voter suppression by Facebook.
“So there is some threshold where you will fact-check political advertisements. Is that what you’re telling me?” Ocasio-Cortez said. Welp, better luck next time, Sandy.
Fake Outrage over Lynching Comments
Naturally, the progressive left had a frantic and totally fake meltdown, pretending to be outraged over this apparently racist statement. AOC, the Queen of False Outrage, slammed Trump in a conversation with TMZ. “He chose that word deliberately,” she said. “People think that he uses these words as mistakes. They’re not. He deliberately chooses the most racially animating, divisive terms so that he can rile up that base.”
However, as they usually do, conservative outlets began posting clips and audio of various Democrats using the same term to describe political attacks against themselves or their colleagues. Even Joe Biden was caught using the word with no public outcry. Once again, the nation got another example showing that their supposed concern over these issues has more to do with politics than sincere emotion.
What does AOC have in store for us next week? Tune in to find out!
