JANUARY 5

11:09 p.m. EST: Loeffler is not expected to speak now while she awaits a more decisive indication of the election results.

10:50 p.m. EST:  Twitter placed a warning label on Andrew Yang’s, former Democratic presidential candidate, tweet for declaring Ossoff and Warnock as winners of the Georgia Senate races. He wrote, “We won both seats!!! Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!!! The first order of business should be getting $2000 cash relief checks out to everyone.”

10:30 p.m. EST: According to a tweet by WJCL News, Chatham County finished counting votes for the night. “Workers say they’ll be back at 8 a.m.,” read the tweet. “Still thousands of votes to be counted here.” However, at 11:21 p.m., GOP Georgia elections official Gabriel Sterling said they counted everything they had and will return in the morning to count the absentee mail that came in on Jan. 5.

10:28 p.m. EST: Trump warns of a Georgia voter dump of Perdue and Loeffler’s ballots.  In a tweet, he said: “Looks like they are setting up a big ‘voter dump’ against the Republican candidates. Waiting to see how many votes they need?”

9:55 p.m. EST: According to Fox News, Loffler is expected to make remarks around 11 p.m. A campaign official said they expect to know enough about the results to comment.

5:30 p.m. EST:  The president tweeted a message about tomorrow’s vote count: “I hope the Democrats, and even more importantly, the weak and ineffective RINO section of the Republican Party, are looking at the thousands of people pouring into D.C. They won’t stand for a landslide election victory to be stolen.”

4:25 p.m. EST: Senator Kelly Loeffler and David Purdue released a statement, encouraged by voter turnout.

“We are encouraged by reports of high voter turnout across the state – particularly so in North Georgia, where President Trump rallied Republicans last night. But make no mistake about it: this is going to a very close election and could come down to the difference of just a few votes in a few precincts across the state.”

3:15 p.m. EST: Protestors gathered in Pennsylvania to support the president’s bid to stop certification of certain swing state results.

2:30 p.m EST: The Blaze report that a programming error in “some Dominion Voting Systems voting machines in Columbia County” required “voters to use emergency paper ballots for a short time.” President Trump appears to be referencing these ballots when he calls for them to be protected.

1:50 p.m. EST: Several messages from poll watchers are appearing online claiming that they are not allowed to serve from a practical distance:

1:20 p.m. EST: President Trump has tweeted about the malfunctioning voting machines, confirming that he has had reports:

12:55 p.m. EST: Senator David Perdue has slammed his opponent Jon Ossoff for raising twice as much in funds from California as he did from the state of Georgia.

12:30 p.m. EST: Latest reports suggest that there are ongoing issues with voting machines in at least three counties. However, no official statement has been made yet.

11:30 a.m. EST: CBS46 reports that all voting machines are down in Spalding County.

11:15 a.m. EST: Social media reports suggest a number of voting machines have issues in various counties.

10:50 a.m EST: Gabriel Sterling, a top election official in Georgia who many outlets report “debunked” President Trump’s claims about voting machines in the 2020 election just tweeted:

“Some issues in Columbia Co. There was a programming error on security keys for some locations scanners & pollworker cards. Voting continues on backup emergency ballots. Newly programmed keys&cards are being taken to locations via law enforcement.”

10:20 a.m EST: According to Axios, the two Senate races today are among the biggest ad-spenders in history with a combined total of nearly $500 million.

9:50 a.m. EST: Senators Loeffler and Perdue have apparently decided to join a number of Republicans in their efforts to question the Electoral College certification tomorrow.
