There’s an old saying about who gets to write history, and for most of history, it has been fairly accurate. American socialists before World War II were fans of Hitler and Planned Parenthood is the direct descendant of the American Eugenics Society. If you dig deep enough, you’ll find historical evidence to back up those facts. So why aren’t they common knowledge? Well, history is written by the victors, and – sadly – the progressive left won academia decades ago.
Thank God for the internet – despite all the ungodly material it contains. Because of this wonderful and terrible resource, students of tomorrow won’t have to rely so heavily on the progressive propaganda they’re sure to receive in the form of textbooks at school.
Still, one might wonder just what future generations will be taught as the gospel truth of historical fact. Luckily – and thanks, once again, to the aforementioned wonderful and terrible internet – you won’t have to wait around to find out. The future history of President Trump, as told by the left, is being written today.
Ending the World, One Round of Golf at a Time
The president’s use of his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida is a staple in the kitchen of the anti-Trump chefs spanning the media. When cooking up a good batch of “Orange Man Bad” news, liberal use of this spice adds notes of decadence and dereliction of duty. Even in the reportage following the drone strike that took out Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani, the resort stands out as another character.
Writing for The Daily Mail, Valerie Edwards gave the resort top billing, naming it in both the title and the opening line of the article. “Donald Trump made the decision to kill Iranian General Qassem Soleimani from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida,” she began, as if it were at all relevant where the president made this decision.
From there, the story proceeds much as any other left-wing reportage of a Trump decision would: He picked the most outrageous and dangerous option presented to him. He ignored his advisers, who cautioned him. He risks global – or, at the very least, American – destruction with every move he makes. And perhaps worst of all, he did it from the opulence of Mar-a-Lago. Reading only leftist news sources, one might surmise the man is bent on starting World War III in between rounds of golf.
The intended imagery is clear: Trump answers to nobody. It calls to mind the Gangster Trump we saw presented by The Atlantic last week. See how he holds court at his expensive resort and then does as he pleases? And of course, as egregious as this is, it isn’t the first offense. “It wasn’t the first time that Trump’s lush Mar-a-Lago resort, with its $200,000 annual membership and Atlantic Ocean vistas, had been the backdrop for a momentous national security decision,” Ms. Edwards wrote. After this, she takes a brief detour into detailing a couple other Mar-a-Lago meetings. Trump, it seems, doesn’t care enough about his job to do it right. He’ll barely take a break from enjoying the splendor of his royal palace to lash out at his enemies. The man even had the gall to meet the president of China there for chocolate cake right after ordering a missile strike on Syria!
A Madman and His Toys
Never mind taking out the head of a terrorist organization, Trump’s real accomplishments in killing Soleimani were pushing impeachment out of the headlines, showing off some hardware, and impressing the Christian fanatics. So reads the subtitle to Heather Digby Parton’s piece for Salon. It answers the question presented in her title: “Why Trump did it: A strategic distraction, or a spoiled child showing off his new toys?”
When looking for lunacy from the left, one often need look no farther than Salon – and this find is pure gold. In the title and subtitle alone, we have an attack on Christianity and a president described as a devious, spoiled child. Now let’s have look at the opening paragraph. Yep, there it is: “He wanted to end the ‘Bush-Obama’ wars because his only real foreign policy has been to reverse anything his predecessors did. That includes all of them going back to at least Franklin D. Roosevelt, and maybe Abe Lincoln.”
One thing most Trump voters would be ecstatic to see is the reversal of most of Obama’s and Roosevelt’s, so implying that Trump would scrap the New Deal if he could isn’t quite as clever a dig as Ms. Parton likely believes. But Abe Lincoln? Presumably, this is an accusation of racism: Trump wants to reinstitute slavery. Is that too much of a stretch? Not to Representative Al Green (D-TX). Somehow or other, the congressman has linked the practice of slavery – abolished in 1865 – to enabling President Trump today. As Liberty Nation’s Graham J. Noble explained: “Slavery led to Trump becoming president. That makes perfect sense – at least to Green.”

“It’s been clear from the beginning,” she wrote, “that Trump had no real understanding of world affairs or history, beyond a vague notion that America has become weak and feckless due to our foolish adherence to silly legal and moral restraints on our behavior.” So the president is a criminal and, in his mind, morality just makes us weak.
She eventually gets around to asking and answering the question: Why has he gone so completely off the rails now? Her answer: impeachment. President Trump needs something – anything – to distract the people from the fact that he has been proven a criminal – the obvious leftist interpretation of a party-line impeachment from a House dominated by TDS patients.
So where did Ms. Parton go off the rails? One might argue that was well before she ever conceived this article. But let’s consider what we’ve read so far as normal. Even using this story as our frame of reference, this next point is insane: “Nothing will make the religious right happier than the prospect of a Middle East conflagration, which at least some evangelicals believe will lead to the End of Days and the Rapture.” There it is. Christians are nuts, and they want the end of the world so they can go meet their God.
Finally, she brings it full circle and says that the president has been bragging about his “big, shiny, expensive, massive military build-up” and that it was inevitable he would find an excuse to show it off sooner or later.
The New Dark Ages
Yes, the history of the Trump years will be the tale of the new Dark Ages, if progressives still write the textbooks. It will be presented as a time the American people were subjected to the mad ramblings and whims of a tyrannical and criminal spoiled man-child who had all those who opposed him killed and refused to recognize that the world was but a dozen years away from destruction – never mind that it can’t have actually ended if there are still students to indoctrinate. Is it too much to ask that progressive academia just repress these memories?
