Robert Mueller’s final special counsel report will show clear evidence that President Donald Trump used his Russian connections not only to sway the 2016 election in his favor but also to enrich himself, his family, and his associates through favorable business deals with Moscow. How do we know that the highly anticipated but as yet unreleased report will say this? Because that is exactly what congressional Democrats and their media surrogates will tell us.
One might be tempted to receive this prediction with skepticism. After all, no one outside the special counsel team has yet seen this final report – if, indeed, it has even been completed. Surely, the report will lay out investigators’ final conclusions, and all that will remain is for Congress to decide what action, if any, should be taken.
Um, About That Special Counsel …

Democrats have insisted that Mueller is a man of unassailable principle and character, a man with no political agenda who would follow the facts, no matter where they led, and get to the truth behind the Trump-Russia collusion story. After more than a year and a half of investigation by the special counsel’s team of elite prosecutors and investigators – and expenditure of tens of millions of dollars – any direct cooperation between Russian officials and the Trump election campaign will surely have been uncovered and will be clearly described and corroborated within the report.
The president’s opponents are already changing the narrative, though. Since the inception of the special counsel, Democrats have insisted that the investigation must not be interfered with or rushed and that the truth will come out when Mueller has completed his work. Now, those same Democrats are hinting heavily that the report – which, it is rumored, will soon be handed over to Attorney General William Barr – will not be the final act in this saga. Instead, it will be endlessly dissected, creatively interpreted, and heavily criticized for being neither transparent nor decisive.
Democrats have already decided that they will not accept the report as conclusive and will cross-examine the man responsible for it – the same one they have vociferously praised and protected since 2017. Mueller will find himself hauled before congressional Democrats and bullied into providing them with some proof that questions still remain.
Despite Mueller, Adam Schiff Will Discover the Truth!

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is now chairman of the ironically named House Intelligence Committee. For two years, Schiff has insisted that he has seen evidence of collusion that is more than merely circumstantial but conveniently not absolutely conclusive. There is plenty of evidence – more than circumstantial but not absolutely conclusive – that Schiff has leaked to the media information damaging to the president intended to undermine the work of the Intelligence Committee when Republicans were in charge. It is bizarre, then, that the Democrat has never leaked to the media the evidence of the collusion he insists he has seen.
Schiff is now making it clear that he will, if necessary, subpoena Mueller and even sue the Justice Department if the special counsel report is not released in full or if evidence or crucial facts are redacted or withheld. In doing so, Schiff is deliberately setting the stage for a grand illusion: Regardless of what the Mueller report actually says, Democrats are going to claim that it contains proof of collusion but that it does not go far enough in revealing the specific details. Essentially, they will present the report as providing all the dots which they must now connect in order to bring a criminal case against Trump and/or members of his family.
Media Role in the Coming Grand illusion
Most of the legacy media, in their principal role as the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party, are helping to lay the table in preparation for this feast of the new collusion-related investigation. On Feb. 25, the Associated Press ran an article, also published in full by The Washington Times, explaining how Mueller’s team had, apparently, already proved collusion between Trump and Russia.
The article did not reveal any new information or even posit any original theories. It merely recapped, in somewhat vague terms, every thread – real or imagined – that connected anyone associated with the 2016 Trump campaign with any Russian or third party who could be tied to Russia. Somehow, the article insists, the case against Trump is all there.
This piece of quasi-journalism does not even fit the category of “fake news.” It is a demonstration, in 3,233 words, of how to write a description of a domestic kitten in a way that makes people think they are reading about a full-grown Bengal tiger. The grand illusion, once again, is that Mueller’s investigation – despite anything that anyone else claims – has uncovered and proved the Trump-Russia relationship and how the 2016 election was stolen.
The Democrat and media narrative is simple: Regardless of what you think you read in the Mueller report, believe only what we tell you it says. The crime of collusion, though it is a crime with no legal definition, is all there, laid out in the report – even if it is not apparent.
If the report does not spell out specific wrongdoing on the part of the president, Republicans and, of course, Trump himself will claim vindication and urge the nation to put it all in the past and move on. Democrats will then claim this proves that the president has something to hide and that they, the loyal opposition, have a solemn, patriotic duty to spend the next two years – or more – taking the report apart and reconstructing it in a way that clearly proves the president’s crimes.
