Joe Biden and the Democrats are getting their groove back. So declared the “Powerhouse Roundtable” on ABC’s This Week. Can the network successfully gaslight America, or will the audience ignore their pleas not to pull back the curtain? At this point, it’s difficult to tell if the activist media is just lying to the public or if they’re buying it themselves.
As the panel discussed possible Supreme Court nominees to replace Stephen Breyer, Martha Raddatz asked: “Democrats, Biden, are they kinda getting their groove back?” Rick Klein responded, saying that “it certainly feels like it” and then he rattled off a few reasons why viewers should stop believing their dishonest ocular organs.
“Look, you can see a scenario where Democrats look at the jobs numbers, they look at omicron, they see a President acting strong in foreign policy, and they see an opportunity with the Supreme Court pick not just to get it confirmed but maybe to get bipartisanship,” he gushed. The media activist continued, speculating that the president might be able to get a bipartisan vote on his nominee for the Supreme Court:
“As we talk about Judge Childs, you’ve got his closest ally, plus key Republicans saying pick this woman, we like her. And that’s a chance for Biden to make good on the overall pledge, the promise that he’s brought about changing the culture of Washington. Yes, he can get something done with a bare majority of fifty votes, but in today’s Washington, it would speak volumes to get 55 or 60 votes for someone. So there’s an opportunity here.”
Despite Raddatz’s and Klein’s desire to paint a rosy picture about the Democratic Party’s political health, reality provides a rather grim prognosis. Reuters recently reported:
“The national poll, conducted Feb. 2-3, found that 41% of U.S. adults approved of Biden’s performance in office, while 56% disapproved and the rest were not sure. The prior week’s poll had put Biden at a 45% approval rating and 50% disapproval.”
The article notes that other Democrats aren’t quite as optimistic as Raddatz and Klein. “Democrats are increasingly worried that dissatisfaction with Biden’s presidency could cost them their congressional majorities,” the author wrote.

But that’s not the worst of it.
A slew of polls conducted in January showed voters prefer Republicans retaking control of Congress rather than allowing the Democrats to retain power. According to RealClearPolitics, surveys taken by Monmouth, Insider Advantage, Harvard-Harris, and several others give Republicans a sizeable lead over Democrats, and it does not appear this trend will change in the near future.
The activist media is not fooling anyone. The writing is on the wall, and it reads: “Democrats are toast.” Voters are telling the public that they are not as enamored of President Biden and left-leaning lawmakers as Raddatz and company would have people think. Unless they manage to pull off a miracle of Red Sea-like proportions, Democrats are rapidly heading towards a shellacking in November.
