SAY WHAT: Nancy, Hillary and the Korean Princess

by | Feb 19, 2018 | Columns

Say What is the segment of Liberty Nation Radio where we unveil some of the most wacky, astonishing and damnable things uttered by politicians and the chattering class.  Here is the latest episode:

Tim Donner: If you listen to the establishment media, you would think that the headliner at the Olympics, the sister of North Korean totalitarian dictator Kim Jong Un is a wonderful lady. Here’s a headline in The Washington Post: The ‘Ivanka Trump of North Korea’ Captivates People in the South at the Olympics. I kid you not. Joe Concha, media critic for The Hill put the whole thing about this woman into perspective.

Joe Concha: You know her official title? This is the most insane thing I’ve ever heard. She is the director of the Department of Propaganda and Agitation. In terms of what’s going on in North Korea, 18 million people are starving according to a UN report. 120,000 people in work camps. And you could go on and on and on in terms of the number of people that have been killed under this regime. It’s why critics, not just conservative critics, but what I saw on social media, all over the place, left and right are slamming not just The New York Times, CNN, Reuters, ABC, NBC, you could go on and on, this is across the board of glamorizing somebody like this who couldn’t ask for any better press if she wanted it from the US media.

Tim Donner: It got so ridiculous that Willie Geist of MSNBC of all places reported that people in South Korea find the glamorization of King Jong Un’s sister and North Korea unbelievable.

Willie Geist: There are a couple of major outlets that were writing fluff pieces about Kim Jong Un’s sister who’d come here, saying she’s the new Ivanka Trump and all these odd comparisons they were making to someone who is the head of propaganda, was under U.N. sanction for helping to run North Korea’s political prison program and all the rest of it. Applauding the cheerleaders for their formation. I was talking to South Koreans here, people around the hotel, people driving cars and cabs and people who own restaurants and they couldn’t believe it. They said, “I can’t believe some people where you live are falling for this routine because none of us are.”

Tim Donner: Yes, the Left is willing to do anything to make President Trump look bad even normalizing a tyrant who starves his own people as he threatens world stability by pursuing nuclear weapons and, now, by most accounts, is close to having one that could hit almost anywhere in the United States. But one wonders how effective their assault on all things Trump really is. But apparently, Hillary Clinton remains useful for Republicans as well. She continues to serve as a rallying cry for Republicans in this year’s midterm elections. Listen to this ad aimed at Claire McCaskill, Democrat running for reelection to the Senate in Missouri.

Commercial: Hillary supported Obamacare. McCaskill voted for Obamacare. Hillary helped negotiate the Iranian nuclear deal. McCaskill voted for it. Hillary supported higher taxes. McCaskill voted against your tax cut. Hillary lied about her emails. McCaskill lied about her private plane. Hillary called us a ‘basket of deplorables.’ McCaskill gave Hillary’s campaign 49 grand. Hillary Clinton, Claire McCaskill, two of a kind.

Tim Donner: Now one would expect that the spectre or memory of Hillary Clinton will be used in other Senate races as well, particularly against the 10 Democrats running for another term in states won by Trump. Why not? When you hear things like this from Hillary in her continuing refusal to leave the stage, which most Democrats even are begging her to do. At a recent policy conference, Hillary raised afresh the alarm bells on climate change and cleverly joined it with the issue of sexism in saying, “It’s women who will suffer the most when the planet is scorched into oblivion.”

Hillary Clinton: Particularly for women, they will bear the brunt of looking for the food, looking for the firewood, looking for the place to migrate to when all of the grass is finally gone as the desertification moves south and you have to keep moving your livestock or your crops are no longer growing. They’re burning up in the intense heat that we’re now seeing reported across North Africa into the Middle East and into India. Women once again will be primarily burdened with the problems of climate change.

Tim Donner: Right. Men will just sit around or run away when the earth is baked to a crisp and the women will once again be the victims of a patriarchal society. But maybe she’s right about one of the over two dozen reasons that Hillary has given for losing the election, none of which of course include her, that would be sexism, according to no less an authority than Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg when asked about it by the disgraced Charlie Rose.

Charlie Rose: You think sexism played a role in that campaign?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Do I think so? I have no doubt that it did. There’s so many things that might have been decisive but that was a major, major factor.

Tim Donner: I thought Supreme Court Justices were not supposed to weigh in on political matters. I guess that’s out the window. But we conclude this segment with the biggest say what of them all in recent days. Nancy Pelosi’s touching story of how her grandson doesn’t want to be white anymore.

Nancy Pelosi: I’m reminded of my own grandson. He had a very close friend whose name is Antonio, he’s from Guatemala and he has beautiful tan skin, beautiful brown eyes, and the rest. This was such a proud day for me, because when my grandson blew out the candles on his cake, they said, “Did you make a wish?” He said, “Yes, I made a wish.” They said, “What is your wish?” He said, “I wish I had brown skin and brown eyes like Antonio.” So beautiful.

Tim Donner: I guess it’s no wonder Pelosi’s grandson doesn’t want to be white anymore given how the hard Left has taken to demonizing white people, particularly of course those deplorable Caucasians who voted for Donald Trump.
