Though the Democratic Party did not want to talk about it while candidates campaigned for the 2018 midterm elections, there is little doubt that the majority of them do, indeed, want to impeach President Donald Trump. It’s not about any crimes they allege he has committed, of course, but merely a way of ending his presidency before he runs for re-election. Barely had the 116th Congress convened for the first time when the crazies started raising their voices. Among them was Rashida Tlaib of Detroit, elected to represent Michigan’s 13th district.
Speaking to her supporters after being sworn in to serve in the House of Representatives, Tlaib made no bones about her intentions toward the president: “ … we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf**ker.”

The Radicals Have Come to Washington
Tlaib represents everything the Democratic Party has become. She is the daughter of Palestinian immigrants who has championed every progressive cause one can think of. Social justice, single-payer healthcare (now deceptively labeled “Medicare for all”), gun control, amnesty for illegal aliens, and open borders are among her crusades. She surrounds herself with Muslim activists who want the state of Israel eradicated and she rubs shoulders with well-known antisemites like Linda Sarsour.
The senior cadre of the Democratic Party knows very well that chasing impeachment of the president without proof of serious crimes would be extremely damaging to the nation. More than likely, that is not something that keeps them awake at night, but the potential politically devastating consequences for them probably does – especially if their impeachment attempts ultimately failed to unseat Donald Trump.
Pelosi’s Greatest Challenge
Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who has just reclaimed the gavel in the House of Representatives, is already on shaky ground. Her party elected her somewhat reluctantly, knowing that there were simply no other viable candidates. The greatest challenge of her long political career has begun: She has two years to do something constructive with her House majority while, at the same time, preventing her party’s radical progressive-socialist faction from leading the Democrats over a cliff. Tlaib, along with Maxine Waters (D-CA), Ocasio Cortez (D-NY), and a host of others, fully intend to abuse their new-found power and attempt to steer the country in the direction of a leftist quasi-dictatorship. They see impeachment – or the threat of it and even indictment of Trump – as a way to ensure electoral victory in 2020.
The vulgar language used by Tlaib is an indication of the complete lack of respect and decorum that characterizes the new breed of Democrat. These radicals believe their midterm victory gave them a mandate for open hostility toward their political opponents. The progressive left, over the past decade, fostered a narrative that their rage and unbridled hatred is fully justified in the face of evil, which is how they portray the president, the Republican Party and conservatives in general. They are assuming that the majority of Americans are buying into that narrative and, when they discover – as they will – that this is not the case, their anger will likely spill over into something far worse than Americans have seen so far.
