Biden’s Been Building – Just Not Back Better

Are Democrats cannibalizing their commander-in-chief?

by | Apr 19, 2022 | Articles, Opinion, Politics

The Biden presidency is severely lacking approval from anyone — Democrats included. The Uniter-in-Chief is under fire from his own head pollster. The mainstream media have declared him powerless to fix the current inflation issue. Conservative media and a large swath of voters are asking where this runaway locomotive is heading. Swamp air is teeming with teeth-gnashers and predators, and sinister hints of mutiny abound. More disturbing, exiting White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki believes anthropophagy is afoot.

During an episode of Pod Save America, the feisty Psaki dropped a hint of what is happening behind closed Democratic doors: “Oftentimes we get a little cannibalistic about what our own plans are and whether they are good enough or whether we are passing them fast enough or what have you.” Of course, it was quite a stretch of the definition of “cannibalistic,” but the intimation was to blame the Democratic Party elected officials and their friends in the drive-by media for all of Biden’s failings.

Mixed Messages

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has called the burgeoning Biden problems “a perfect storm,” and even outlets like CNN have agreed (gasp). The struggling cable news network declared that Biden has no control over anything: not rogue (read: centrist) Democratic senators, gas prices, war, crime, China, Russia, the southern border, or inflation. But Psaki insists they have a plan for all of them. A thinking person might ask to see the said plan.

Apparently, that plan is a state secret. John Anzalone, Biden’s personal pollster, went a bit hysterical in an interview with Politico, implying as much: “Voters are very much in ‘What have you done for me lately?’ They always are. And they don’t feel Democrats can get their s— together and get things done.”

Anzalone even shared his idea for pulling the administration out of the sucking quicksand: Give the voters a nibble of what they might want, which should deflect from reality. As he stated, “And it’ll cut through the inflation narrative, the Ukraine narrative, the Afghan narrative, the border narrative, etc.”

Circling back to the administration’s attempt to prove it is in control, Jen tried to shine a flattering spotlight on her soon-to-be-former employer: “Nobody’s had to pay a dollar or cent, anything, in student loans since Biden has been president.” What she failed to add was “yet.”  Student loans have been suspended temporarily and the deadline extended for payback. And Psaki advised, “If you look at the other side, there’s nothing in the cupboard, they have zero plan, we all agree inflation is a problem, they have no plan to address it.” But Psaki continued to appeal to the hard-hearted that are leaving her guy on the porch, “We could be saying that more, and I think it would help.”

But the administration does not have a plan. So instead, it uses dog-whistle political jargon – such as “we’re taking steps,” or “I’ll circle back to that,” and all-time favorite “we’ve formed a task force” – to sound as if it is doing something, anything. Americans want their president to say it and then fix it. And that is not happening.

Yet spin-mistress Psaki remains poised and stalwart in convincing this world on her man Biden’s behalf that he is not the most embarrassing leader this nation has elected.

On That Note

CNN and Psaki cannot both be right. But are they both wrong? Liberty Nation’s economics correspondent, Andrew Moran, set the record straight, without spin from the media or the White House:

“President Joe Biden and his administration cannot do much because the genie is already out of the bottle. With the help of the Federal Reserve, Washington has injected trillions of dollars into the economy since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, everything that has transpired since then, from the war in Eastern Europe to the global supply chain crisis, is merely exacerbating the problems planted in the misguided fiscal and monetary policies emanating from the nation’s capital since 2020.”

Moran further acknowledged: “So, when CNN says President Biden can’t do anything about today’s economic problems, the network is right. When Psaki promises that the White House has a plan for everything, she is correct too, but these efforts will not do anything to resolve this inflationary environment.”

That ship has sailed, leaving the remnants of a multi-trillion-dollar campaign slogan in the quagmire of mismanagement as the future has become apparent. Oh, Biden has been building — just not back better, and Democrats are donning hard hats.
