Whether it was Napoleon or Woodrow Wilson – and both have been considered for attribution – there is an old saying that one should never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself. It just may be that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) heard this old saw. In a recent statement, Pelosi appears to be charging up San Juan Hill, guns ablaze against her own people – the extreme left.

And just who is she denouncing? Why her Antifa friends:

Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts.  The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.

Referencing the violence in California this weekend where Berkeley police allowed Antifa to jump the barricades and assault the Patriot Prayer group, Pelosi went on to say, “we must never fight hate with hate, and to remember the values of peace, openness, and justice that represent the best of America.” Perhaps it was the images from that event that finally got to these extreme left politicians. One, published here on Liberty Nation, shows a black guy wearing an American flag bandanna screaming into the microphone, “ I am not a white supremacist.”  But the Antifa folks shut him down anyway.

Oh, the tolerant left. They just can’t stand it when they don’t get their way, so they take matters into their own hands and physically and verbally assault everyone in their path.  This seems to have caused the unintended consequence of Democrats jumping down the throats of their own kind. Pelosi is the second such political leader to make a statement against these nice Antifa folk.

Just this Monday, Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin said Antifa should be classified as a gang. Ya think?  Thank you, Mr. Mayor and Former Madam Speaker, for stating the obvious. Arreguin told local TV station KPIX, “They come dressed in uniforms. They have weapons, almost like a militia and I think we need to think about that in terms of our law enforcement approach.”

You have to wonder what has caused this political shift? Is the left running scared of the left? Are they in fear of what they started? Are they worried that things are getting out of hand? Perhaps it would be a good idea if these left wing politicians would get their message to the left wing establishment media. Then they might stop reporting every clash with Antifa as nothing more than your average lunchroom food fight.

One can only hope.
