Following the insulting and chaotic retreat from Afghanistan, the Biden administration now slaps the American people in the face by steering the president away from making remarks on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Perhaps Joe Biden’s avoidance stems from hecklers lining the travel routes of the presidential convoy, holding signs that read “Killer-in-Chief.” In typically solid blue states, it’s an unfortunate optic. On the other hand, maybe, the president’s absence in acknowledging the memorial is due to making friends with – as he pronounces the terrorist organization – the “Tally Ban.” White House press secretary Jen Psaki claims letting one plane depart from Kabul to land in Qatar carrying some of the abandoned refugees – both American and Afghani – is a “positive first step.” A first step to what? Are we friends now with those who call for “death to America?”

As Flyover folks have no use for the patriotically challenged, conversations about military decision-making soon came around to a discussion about indifference towards what is best for the country. Heartlanders believe this administration focuses only on the political narrative. Politically speaking, half of America is increasingly demanding the president’s immediate resignation.
One may ask, how do you know half the country is angry at Joe Biden? Well, it becomes apparent when those who voted for him start apologizing. As one tavern-sitter in Indiana, Thorston Williams, admitted, “I voted for him, but I did not think it would be this bad and not this soon.” Or maybe the harried woman picking up take-out pizzas for the local cheer squad is a perfect example. Already short-tempered with teen spirit, Lynn Spiering slammed her wallet down and declared to the local news station blaring on the television set above the bar: “This guy is a serial dumpster arsonist.” The ABC affiliate was promoting Biden’s COVID now-six-pronged elimination plan.
Although Mr. Biden is traveling to the Shanksville, PA, and Twin Towers ground zero locations, he is not addressing anyone gathered to mourn and memorialize. And folks in flyover states find his behavior unsettling. In the Twin Cities, Roman Mekdara worries, “He couldn’t protect the hundreds of Americans in Afghanistan. So how can he protect the millions on American soil?”
If the president thought about protecting himself by avoiding gaffing his way through what is, for most Americans, a tough day, this is probably not the way to accomplish the mission. But, again, “the mission” helped get him into this mess in the first place.
Heartlanders Respect the Uniform
The patriotic actions of two young boys in Indiana have gone viral. As 89-year-old veteran Charles Everett Yorn was laid to rest, Batesville, IN’s own Jacqi Hornbach captured the two young Americans unknowingly, making this nation proud. The two hopped off their bikes, stood at attention as Taps was played, and remained until the 21-gun salute concluded. Only then did they ride off to be free youngsters once again. In Jacqi’s words to the local Fox News affiliate, “I was so proud of these two young men. Their parents should be so proud, and I’m sure the serviceman was in heaven smiling down on them. It was as if they didn’t even have to discuss it before doing it. They knew that’s just what you do when you come across this. It was so natural for them.”
It is a natural reflex to honor where people respect and believe in this nation. How is it that our president cannot find the time to do the same? Ah, that’s right: Mr. Biden spends his time commemorating our fallen by frequently checking his watch.
