Has the Disney company done irreparable damage to its reputation?

The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) may lose some of its benefits in Florida. After Disney officially opposed the state’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” bill, Governor Ron DeSantis spearheaded a move to revoke the special district privileges the company has been enjoying for decades. Although a long court battle may be in the works, and TWDC might be able to reverse elements of the new legislation, the damage may already be done.
For a company supposed to be dedicated to family entertainment, TWDC has taken the wokeism ball and run with it. Recently, the company announced it will be censoring yet two more classic Disney characters: Tinkerbell and Captain Hook. They join the ever-growing list of characters and movies requiring warning labels because some people are getting triggered – by cartoon personalities.
If you are on social media, you may have seen calls to ban Disney+. Viewers are tired of the progressive politics the company has embraced. As Liberty Nation Economics Correspondent Andrew Moran recently said, “Disney shares recorded a weekly loss of 9.35%, adding to their year-to-date decline of more than 23%.” And voters in this poll agree that TWDC has caused irreparable damage to its reputation.
Which is the bigger issue for the 2022 midterms?
Result: 56% immigration, 40% inflation, and 4% Ukraine
Liberty Nation Senior Political Analyst Tim Donner has been covering the upcoming midterms and what we might expect. In his recent article – “Are Democrats Facing a Midterm ‘Biblical Disaster?’” – he wrote:
“The enduring question between now and November 8, when voters cast their ballots in more than 450 House and Senate races, is whether Democrats have the capacity to recover to any significant degree, or if an electoral disaster has already been baked in the cake.”
It seems Democrats have made a policy mess while holding the three power centers – the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives – and voters are looking for a change. Illegal immigration has overwhelmed America’s borders, with thousands of migrants crossing each day. Since President Joe Biden signaled the end of Title 42, a regulation that allowed officials to turn back immigrants during the pandemic, even some in his own party have spoken against the move. It’s no wonder Liberty Nation readers chose this topic as one of the biggest issues the left will face as the midterms approach.
However, close on the heels of immigration is inflation. Americans are feeling the bite at the supermarket. Prices on some items have tripled in just a few short weeks. Add to that the supply chain crisis, which makes it even more difficult to find the big-ticket products and produce.
Ukraine, to LN voters at least, doesn’t seem to be as big of an issue. President Volodymyr Zelensky seems to be doing an outstanding job defending his country and showing the rest of the world what good leadership looks like. Perhaps the concern isn’t so much Ukraine but Russian President Vladimir Putin and what he intends to do next.
