High Noon for Declaring a National Emergency

President Trump says he has the legal right to declare a state of national emergency over our lack of a secure southern border. He has signaled that he is not yet ready to do so, but if he does, the results could be greater than even he thinks. By pushing the wall debate to a true gunfighter’s showdown, he would expose the Democrats and establishment Republicans who continue to thwart him on this vital issue as the self-serving, corrupt politicians that many truly are.

“The law is very clear. I mean, we have the absolute right to declare a national emergency,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview. “This is a national emergency, if you look what’s happening.”

Indeed it is. And our globalist, monolith Big Box media is completely losing control of the narrative. The same rancid outlets that have repeatedly “reported” with tear-swollen eyes on the hardships endured by illegal aliens, have shown their callous disregard for the American citizens who have suffered at the hands of those who commit even more crimes after illegally crossing onto U.S. soil.

2015 All Over Again

Career politicians are being shoved into the spotlight as the government shutdown continues. Once again, Donald Trump is providing a service to the nation. Three-plus years ago, his populist presidential campaign rattled the cages of, and then toppled, the stale puppet kingdoms of his establishment opponents in the GOP ranks. Most of them still don’t understand just how ridiculous they were made out to be. Remember John Kasich and Chris Christie outdoing themselves in their promises to start World War III with Russia? “[Y]es, we would shoot down the planes of Russian pilots,” a bloviating Christie actually bragged during a debate.

Sober-minded Americans were appalled at the complete lack of concern for the interests of their own nation that was demonstrated by the two elephant dwarves. We are now seeing this same careless attitude strutted about by the opponents of the border wall. The image of CNN contributor and alleged Republican strategist Ana Navarro arrogantly filing her nails, as another analyst discussed the serious crimes that some illegal aliens have perpetrated against Americans, made for the worst possible optics for the anti-Wall cabal. Do they even realize it?

And then there was the petrified-wood performance of the two top Democratic congressional leaders after Trump’s address to the nation. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in their official Democratic response looked for all the world like two fossilized hacks vainly trying to hold back a tidal wave of patriotic citizen resentment.

In the past, these two Swamp stalwarts would have been able to sing their sad and calculated songs of plaintive immigrants shivering on our back porch without any challenge from the likes of a Paul Ryan or a John Boehner. But now they must contend with the voices of those Americans who have been harmed by their deliberate neglect of the people they are meant to serve.

“So Ms. Pelosi – this is our son. This was Pierce Corcoran,” D.J. Corcoran told Fox News host Laura Ingraham as he held up a picture. “He is dead. His death is real … It’s not fabricated. And he died at the hands of an illegal immigrant.” Twenty-two-year-old Pierce Corcoran was killed when an illegal alien driver crossed into his lane and crashed into his vehicle. Increasing numbers of Americans are noticing that politicians like Nancy Pelosi don’t care about his death.[perfectpullquote align=”right” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=”24″]“‘America First!’ is still a winning hand…”[/perfectpullquote]

Holding All the Cards

Donald Trump won the White House because he convinced over 60 million Americans that he was a different kind of politician. That he cared about Americans, not globalist agendas. Iconic paleoconservative Pat Buchanan gave the best possible advice at the end of a recent column urging the president to declare a state of emergency.

“‘America First!’ is still a winning hand,” Buchanan succinctly wrote. That says it all. That is what this is all about. Do what is best for America, Mr. President, and let the chips fall where they may. Declare a state of national emergency. You will provide a service that goes far beyond the construction of our desperately needed border wall.
